Enebias: -My favourite monsters... uhm... I could say Dragons, too, but I'm not sure they would qualify.
Let me think... oh, yes! Elves, of course! With their soft skin, their sweet little voices and their revolting perfectionism! The damn racist think they are superior to everyone!
Moreover, their sense of humor is terrible.
Da Faq you say? I'm sending a Drow war party to Italy asap! (been nice knowing you...)

I'll be IN for penumbren

Q#1 - Just to go a different route what about This guy?

Q#2 - Monster... Hmm got a tie here and [url=http://www.kucuu.com/photo/e7d2decfea8eeb033887b79d13c2ae12.jpg]Vampire Man, who could choose? too difficult for me.

Ragnarblackmane: A bump and a question for fellow Utlima fans. Does anyone remember the infamous incident in 1997 when Lord British, aka Richard Garriot's alter ego, was assassinated during a speech in the ULTIMA ONLINE beta? I can tell you I remember reading about that and being shocked at such an action while simultaneously excited to play in an online game where such a thing was possible.

If you were playing games back then and remember, please share your own thoughts on what it meant to you. If you happened to be in that beta or played UO afterwards, then perhaps I will award the chance to win ANOTHER game for the best story.
Every time I got frustrated in Ultima II I would go kill Lord British as stress relief. That pompous ass probably died 1000x in my game... now if only I could have figured out who kept rezzing him
Tell me who your favorite fictional detective is, provide a picture if able.
Either Jeremy Brett. No offense to Cumberbatch, who is also excellent in the role, but Jeremy brought the original short stories to vivid life while remaining absolutely true to the original stories and the time period. Not even the early black & white movies (I have a number of these) came anywhere close to the integrity of the Granada production. Some Sherlock Holmes versions were very fun while not being close at all, like the Frank Langella & Tom Baker stage productions that appeared on public television years ago (80's, I think.) I never quite lost the feeling that Dracula & Doctor Who were having a joke, but they were fun just the same.

I also liked The Great Mouse Detective. All things considered, it was a worthy tribute to Sherlock Holmes :D

Wow, I wished I had noticed the lovely Sherlock Holmes discussion sooner. I also grew up with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories. I loved those books! The Strand Illustrated collection was particularly nice. I don't even know how often I reread them, but it was quite a few times!

Tell me who/what your favorite fictional monster is, provide a picture if able
Sully from Monsters Inc? (no, I don't a snow-cone from those guys ;)

Pics of interesting vehicles only, the more outlandish the better.
I'll agree with RagnarBlackmane and say the Millenium Falcon. Mind you, the Explorers spaceship was rather amusing

Tell me who your favorite fictional rogue is, provide a picture if able.
Locke from FFVI (FF3 SNES) He's brave and has a heart of gold, and could steal awesome weapons like the Atma sword ;)

If you were a truck, what kind of truck would you be, and why?
Semi-truck so I could deliver many good things and because they are just about unstoppable! Besides, I like the throaty purr sound they make. :D

As for the Ultima games, they were my first PC rpgs in the 90's and I just loved them, especially since I didn't know anybody I could play with the approved, old-fashioned table-top and dice way anymore. Hadn't played a game since the last all-weekend-long convention I'd attended as a teenager. I really enjoyed them back then, though I will admit to getting spoiled by the relatively easy jrpgs on the SNES later on. I've been planning to replay them, hopefully in order, and see what I think of them now. I have Ultima 4+5+6 pack, so I would just need to pick up 1+2 to get going in order.

In for iphgix

Ha! They can try to take me down! I always keep an UV reflector near me, just in case! I will send them back nacked both in body and in spirit! So much for the fearsome Adamantine... :P

Actually, I was just trolling. I expected that you or Crewdroog would have come up with some sort of revenge! lol

P.S. To the entrants: I'm sorry to be the Mr. Manners of the situation, but every participant should remember to thank the host! If you don't, the mannerite patrols will not help you after the apocalypse!

penumbren: * I like Ritchie!Holmes. I may be in the minority, but I think it actually captures Holmes' character pretty well. The movies themselves are action-adventures, but I think the character is pretty solid (other than the scruffiness), and it's been very nice to have any Holmes property actually point out things like the fact that he's a helluva fighter. Usually Watson's role as bodyguard/backup/everyman takes over and some of Holmes' physical capabilities are lost. I'm not all that fond of their on Moriarty, and Holmes' humor is very much over the top for the character, but I'm willing to let that go because they're fun.
You may be in the minority but you're not alone. I, too, liked those films and think it did a good job in capturing the character well. Stephen Fry as Mycroft was also really amazing. :)

Agreed. Jeremy Brett did a superb job in the role of Sherlock Holmes. That series was my first introduction to Sherlock before i read the novels.

Ozden: Have 3 copies for Insurgency (my friends are not interested in FPS games) from the recent bundle I bought - in case anyone is interested.

link remved

and please inform if you have taken any.
Nice of you to offer this title, but If I may, two things:

1. We have a dedicated thread for non-GOG games to be requested or offered. You can find it here. This is the dedicated thread for a GA by a specific member, let's not hijack it.

2. Please refrain from posting naked codes or links, it only attracts bad apples to this community. So please edit your post above to remove the link, and if you post in the suggested thread, inform the community of what you're offering and ask them to PM you to get the link to redeem the game.

Cheers.
I'm NOT in :P

Yes, he was. I think the casting in those movies was generally very good. (I could've done without the random nude scene, but enh.) I also love how they handled Mary's character - making her a strong character that people actually liked.

Jeremy Brett is still Holmes to me.

I actually started with an even older rendition, Bastil Rathbone, watching them broadcast on AMC and TCM with my dad. I discovered Brett much later but really appreciate his take on the character. Another favorite still though is...

Not even kidding.
