Intelligence in ones life is vital, however, if one does not seek understanding then intelligence is wasted. In order for intelligence to be useful, understanding must follow.

is it a loop thing, one cant exist without the other?

I do not quite get these stairs... hmm... I could think also about matrimony but after a door (marriage) there is long way forward, rather not stars.. also not for everyone marriage is vital :D

Well the same way I could say it like that.....
"A discovery for knowledge is vital, however, if one doesn't systematically analyze and sort out the information obtained then discovery is pointless. For the discovery to be useful, subsequent analysis and systematization must follow." :)

I'll take a shot at this.
The house could be a metaphor for life, The door an Opportunity, and the stairs, are the path traveled after you take the opportunity.

You built a treehouse?

I think I finally get it. It's all symbolic. A doorway that's open is a path, an opportunity to take, a goal accomplished that you have made it through. A stairway is a path, an obstacle to the door, a struggle.

In this way, basically it means that to have a goal of any meaning, requires that you have struggled to reach it, your path is dictated by the obstacles you take to reach it and accomplish. I can't explain a lick what the house is supposed to mean in this though.

If you take this figuratively, the stomach could be the "house" and the mouth its "door" and the throat its "stairs". Maybe..? Grasping at a straw there.

Or a non-ground floor apartment for another literal take.
