I just noticed my rep hit 808 and it instantly reminded me of the legendary Roland TR-808 drum machine. Even if you know nothing about music, you've heard this machine many, many times.

Take the time to reflect on some of your favourite 808 music, mixing, recording, music in general, or let the thread die. It's all gooood ;)
It means Hawaii to me.

Area Code 808
Extremely not found.
As of now, Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 on GOG.com :-(

EDIT:

No. Still no news on that. Please don't ask - I wouldn't like to derail this thread.

I hope our beloved MCA is 808'ing in heaven...
It's been ages since I pretended to be a musician, but I came really close to getting one at one point. Even drove out to the music store with the intention to buy one. I'm apparently easily distracted, and when I left, I was walking out with a Moog Concertmate MG-1 and a Tascam 424. I don't regret either, but I do wish I'd gotten to play with a TR-808 all the same.

You're not 100% accurate in that statement!
Fantastic!

This instantly makes me want to dance.

Only downside is that the clap sound isn't sexy enough.
I remember a rave act called '808 State' back in the early 90's, not sure I ever heard any of their stuff though, always wondered what the '808' part was about!
Isn't there an '808 drum' too? or something
Heck yes it does. 808s and big basslines. Especially the early days of hip hop.
