I'm downloading some of these albums just out of curiosity.
Thanks!
I'm digging the hell out of this Soulitude album.
I love music posts!

This is free technically since you name your own price. :)

And time for another portion of free albums!

kaneel - your average best friend (name your price model) - interesting glitchy electronica with lot of emotion

The Silence Industry - The Teeth Of Tomorrow - wonderful and original, melodic and powerful canadian rock. As my friend called it, "Paradise Lost covers The Cure. And folks from Depeche Mode are mixing this stuff."

Tristar & Red Sector Inc. - Elektroshock - incredible stuff, mashup of electro, chiptune, ol' fashioned hip hop (think Bomb The Bass) and many other things, whole things released as "digital vinyl". Contains neato GUI for playing the tracks, but you can (read: should) upload this to your iPod and rock your ears.

V/A - Fall Asleep Ghosts - beatiful compilation of dark/drone/experimental ambient and field recordings. FLAC files @ archive.org

b4kn - The Octagon - epic chiptune journey in vein of best progressive rock albums. Piece of art! FLAC version

Sonic Dissent - Enemies Of The State - massive, pounding harcore techno/industrial 4-track EP, which will not only annoy your neighbours, but also make you little deafer. Killer!

And last but not least!

Powermad - The Madness Begins... + Absolute Power - awesome late '80s thrash metal from US! Archive consists of debut EP and first LP. Total thrashfest!

As always, post your favourite free & legal to download albums here and tell me which genres you want to listen next time! See ya next week!

You really piqued my curiosity with that comment. I downloaded it right away and I have no regret. Paradise Lost covers The Cure, indeed.
I wonder why this thread hasn't gotten more attention. The idea is great.

Thanks for posting this, unfortunately i've never heard of any of these artists, i guess i'm getting old.
Well then, let me add some more greatness to the thread. I've noticed a bit of everything except hip-hop. So I give to you all...

Tree Dusk Muir - Tree Dusk Muir + Propagated Molting Crazy, extremely dark hiphop. Extremely large vocabulary, very interesting lyrics. Recommended even if you don't really like hip-hop.
Another good one. (I am loathe to let this topic die, I love free music)

LEXZN - Return of the Century Mostly dark instrumental hiphop. A little bit of vocal work from French artist Yem Senha, Tree Dusk Muir and member Wormhole, and death-metal-growl-rapping from Nomad and Icabod Chang.
Here's a great progressive album throwback to the days of Oldfield. A good journey through space.

This is one of the artist's best albums but he has many more. All located on the Internet Archive for easy previewing and downloading.
