I'm interested in finding this out, too. I was just about the click the "Add to cart" button when I noticed that same note in the requirements. Hopefully this is just another case of Steam doing a poor copy/paste of the readme from the retail box game.

That's good news, but after reading a bit more about the game and trying out the demo, I think I'll wait for the Colonies Edition to hit Steam at a good price.

Yeah the version on Steam is on Steam purely because Capcom used Steam for the DRM. (That's a lot of Steams ¬_¬).

Why do people always ask if a Steam game has SecuROM, and then spend 20 posts trying to figure it out?
It says on the store page whether it has third-party DRM or not.

Not all games list the DRM/activation limits. For example, Two Worlds has limited activations but no mention of this is made on the product page. These activations are controlled by a form of DRM which also isn't mentioned on the product page.
DRM information also has a tendancy to get published on a store page a few days after a game is released too.

Steam? I'd buy it for 3 dollars. I'm fucked up with their DRM, so I want to pay a "right" price minus the DRM stuff. That's all.

I also saw that they are making a sequel some years after the first one that is multiplatform..
well, I believe it is multiplatform, it hasn't been said that it's an Xbox 360 exclusive, because the announcement trailer I believe, was Xbox 360 exclusive.
The reviews aren't _that_ bad, they range from mediocre to OK. I have the 360 game, and I do enjoy the story. That fact that it was released in the cold December made it even cooler (pun not intended) to play.

IMO the game is pretty good. The story is pure shit, but the gameplay is really enjoyable.

for £3.49 you really cannot go far wrong with lost planet.
as a tech demo alone it occupies the same price bracket as linger in shadows, and at least this can be played unlike that.

my only pet peeve about the game is that most of the context menus use Xbox controller button icons.
I think I might play the game more once I have a wired xbox 360 controller or one of those wireless hubs they have for them, right now the only wired xbox 360 controller I have is a guitar hero guitar. :D

I played the demo (with an Xbox 360 Controller) and thought it was good fun. From what I've heard the game might be a bit repetitive, but it just felt so smooth and the setting is quite original, so I'm sure I would enjoy it a lot.
On the other hand, I'd also like to have Jagged Alliance 2. $10 for the one, or 5€ for the other.. I think the choice isn't that hard to make :)
I don't know where you live, but here in Germany we have 19% taxes. These 19% aren't included in the original dollar price on Steam, but they are included in the Euro price. So, if Valve hadn't changed the currency, I would've had to pay $5,95 for Lost Planet, which would be about 4,7€, whereas now I have to pay 5€. No big difference there :)
Of course, if where you live the taxes are significantly lower I can understand your disliking it.
