Hey folks!

I'm looking for some fun LAN-playable games, for about four to five players. Any recommendations?
My team and I usually fire up shooters (spent a good long while with Crysis Wars, then FEAR 3, some UT3, and now Left 4 Dead 2, as well as Racedriver: GRiD), though I'm open to other suggestions too.
The most fun game in coop nowadays is Borderlands 2, so you should definitely try that with your friends.
killing floor
Counter strike source and 1.6
Rook's Keep. It's basically UT2004 but with swords and axes and hammers and stuff .

You like shooters? Are you adverse to going through DosBox? If not, here's a good suggestion:

Duke Nukem 3D. Deathmatch in this game may never be equaled. The gadgets are a joy.

And if it's co-op you're seeking, might I recommend Stronghold? It's a Doom 2 mod based around surviving wave after wave of enemies. New weapons, modern controls, decent visuals, and a raucous good time in LAN. I can't recall if it requires the Doom 2 game WAD or not, but if so, it's available through Steam for a reasonable price.

Would Hammerwatch suffice?
My friends and I had a lot of fun playing Painkiller and Vietcong. Painkiller is *really* hardcore, though, with ridiculously high speed and every player starting with the stake gun which is both extremely hard to use and extremely deadly.
If you have only 4 people Payday is a great game to play co-op. Sanctum is another good co-op 4 person fps/tower defence hybrid.
Multiwinia might be fun. It's on gog.
Thanks for all the suggestions folks!

F4LL0UT; Painkiller was something that had my eye for a bit, but the demo keeps turning me off... is it just a bad representation of the game? Something about it just felt odd and clunky...

Ralackk; Heard of PayDay, thought I don't know too much about it beyond the name...

Steely_Gaze; Really? How would you rate Dukematch next to the UT series or Quake 3 (both in general fun and balance).
We used to have a blast doing speed runs in Darkstone. I don't think we ever finished the game and it's been a decade since I've played it so I can't tell you much about game play other than it's Diablo like. Might be worth a look?

mmm tough one.

Id say Total Annihilation, Total Annihilation, mmm Total Annihilation + Total Annihilation.

Oh and modded Total Annihilation: http://www.tauniverse.com/
NOLF, NOLF, NOLF, AVP and NOLF.

I haven't played the demo so I really can't say. I'm surprised to hear "clunky", though. It's really solid and well-designed game, not comparable to many other Eastern European low-budget shooters (which can indeed only be described with the word "clunky"). The question is whether you can enjoy those very abstract levels free of any story elements. That shouldn't be an issue in multiplayer, though. If you enjoy Quake-style multiplayer you should feel right at home. Something that turns many people off, however, seems to be the bunny hopping - you really need to keep jumping all the time as that boosts your speed remarkably.

Personally, nothing beats UT (at least, the original) in terms of balance. That game had nearly perfect balance in my eyes, even with the terrible might of the Redeemer, and it will forever be on every computer I build. But Dukematch is more...zany, I suppose would be appropriate. It's fairly bad when it comes to balance, the shrink ray being the prime example, but a few good maps and a couple beers and it becomes the sort of game where you don't care who's winning.

No other FPS is quite as crazy, in my eyes, and that means a wild good time.

Oh! I just thought of another great co-op game! Serious Sam: The Second Encounter! I've played it probably two dozen times in co-op (almost no exaggeration there) with three players and it always provides some basic, visceral fun.
