either it was my great granfather, or great great grandfather on my father's side brought his family over here to America from Greece. (My Mother's side has been here since the Mayflower)
I'm a Romanian that lives in Romania. I may move to US this year , but I'm not sure whether I want to stay there longer than college. Besides that , I don't know any of my ancestors , family trees or whatever. I haven't even met all my great grandparents. I asked my parents a few times about our origins , but they don't know much about that either. If I ever want to really know my origins , I guess I'll just have to track them and see where did they come from.

Migrating BUMP!
I'm Peruvian who descends from Spanish, French and Italian. My French and Italian roots came in the end of the XIXth century. The Spanish ones maybe were earlier.

As far as I know, I'm english on my father's side and german from my mother's side.
thank you for the giveaway.

for me the answer that both parents of my grandmother is from Greece. Crete to be more precise. It's a shame that I have seen a number of greek islands but not yet Crete

Should you visit, send a PM, along with what you'd prefer to go drink, beer, coffee, wine or raki. Preferrably a week in advance so I can make proper arrangements.

oh I sure will do keep this invitation in mind :) I already know my preference for the drink though: Rakı :)

damien: Rakı :)
In which case I'll ask to bring a bottle as well, since I think Turkish raki has aniseed as well, while Cretan one doesn't. Just to see how different one is from the other.
