While it is true that the 3ds has a lower battery life than the original DS (hell, my fat DS with its original battery STILL has better battery life than the 3ds), it is perfectly adequate for travelling.

Doubly so if one has any sort of road adapter. One of those that works for the DS and the 3DS/DSiXL was one of my best purchases last year.

Also, 3 hours of gimped console style games? What?

anjohl: I'm a troll for highlighting an obvious market trend? Who wants 3 hours of gimped console sryle gaming on the go? Mobile-designed games are the future, whether you like it or not. Plus, if I can't resell my games, I would rather pay mobile prices that I can't recoup than console prices.
Obvious market trend? Go see some hardware sales chart for fucks sake before posting your BS. 3DS is selling a lot, MUCH more than the DS did on the same amount of time. And its games are also selling a lot. Both Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land have set new records for the franchises. By the way, last month the 3DS sold more than any other console in history did within 1 month in Japan. So i dont see your "obvious market trend" there.

Seriously, comparing those stupid iPhone games to real portable games is ridiculous. I dont know why im wasting my time with you, really.

SirPrimalform: You should see the two posts in a row that he made in the WiiU thread.

Anjohl, it's not necessarily what you say that makes people call you a troll, but your way of saying it.
Nah, hes a troll, nothing else. He made a thread accusing GOG of mass deleting comments about CDPR lawsuits against TW2 pirates. However, all the threads discussing it are still open and nothing has been deleted. When asked to post some proof to his accusation, he vanished from the thread. It was obviously just a troll rant with no serious evidence whatsoever.

Yeah, I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt... but he is full of crap 90% of the time.
Vita.

That's what I did, and what I hope the general public finally clues in on.

The general public did catch on. They get console-style games for their console, and handheld-style games for their handheld.

I am so glad you ignored the rest of my post. <3

You don't like handheld games, we get it. Go and crap on a different thread.

Holy crap! Get this one!

Its probably going to be way expensive. If it even comes out at all. I want one though!
I decided to wait for the revised version before I get the 3DS, and bought the Vita now.

I have had my Vita for about a week, and I absolutley love it. The screen is fantastic, and Uncharted was AMAZING. I get 4.5 hours of battery life playing Uncharted with WIFI off. I it seems that I am getting better battery life playing the less-resource-intensive game "Mutant Blob Attacks," but I have not tested it. Interface is smooth and fast, PSP games look great and play better because you can finally use two analog sticks. Buying and downloading games is almost too easy, and I already have a backlog of PSP titles on my machine to work through.

The only downsides to the Vita is the price and the size. For me, portable Uncharted is well worh carrying a bag, and, luckily, I could afford it. My only complaint is that, sometimes, it almost feels that Sony is holding back its own hardware. The Vita is clearly capable of playing PS1 and PS2 Classics, but currently it cannot. While Sony has promised that it will eventually play PS1 games, there is no word about PS2 compatability. Also, it can play most PSP games on PSN, but only 270 show up on the Vita store. I have used my PS3 to get Syphon Filter and Kill Zone on the Vita, but not everyone can do this. It baffles me. The hardware is so good. Sony could make it much more appealing with very little effort.
