I saw this newly released on Gamersgate, but it's still in the beta stage. Check out its info page on Desura. It looks pretty cool.

3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. Think of this game as an original game combining Fallout and Minecraft. I hope you enjoy it!

I saw this, but it looks way too much like a half decent Minecraft mod than anything. It's even being made in Java as well, so you don't have the bonus of better stability from using a better language.

Plus randomly generated quests are never as interesting as well designed ones. Skyrim's proven that pretty easily.

I just watched Yogscast's LP of it. Boy, am I glad I held off buying it tonight. My problem with it is, it looks like a huge mess of ... stuff that's going on. It also looks really unpolished.

I still wishlisted it anyway. This looks like it has potential, but it needs a lot more work in its current state before I'll play it.
