3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. Think of this game as an original game combining Fallout and Minecraft.
looks like a weak minecraft mod, and they want 10 bucks for it.

Naah.
it's using jMonkeyEngine

Oh boy. Dodgy English in the announcements is not a good sign for an RPG game. Will play the demo in a while.
Oh, boy...
3059 was a sci-fi roguleike http://people.umass.edu/jvight/3059/
3069 was sort of the same only on ugly 3D engine http://sites.google.com/site/free3069/
And now they made this...

Well it does look like they're getting better. But the similarities to Minecraft this time around are somewhat overwhelming.

The main page does call their product an "original" mix of Minecraft and Fallout 3.

Well, no one would want them to borrow too much from Fallout 3.

Kinda ironic that they picked Minecraft and a Bethesda title. Should call it 3079 5CR0LL5 while, they're at it.
3079 must be the release date.

*laughs*
I watched an LP for twenty minutes or so. I'm afraid the game looked like garbage, and I was watching it to find an excuse to buy it.

Basically, it has all of Minecraft's ugliness with none of its charm, and is a terribly weak ripoff of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., not Fallout.
Saw the Yogscast play a bit of the game yesterday. I would agree with the comments here, it looks pretty bad.

I don't think it's so much of a 'Minecraft Clone' though, after all you can't dig or build things (unsure though), it just looks similar. It is still in alpha, who knows it may be in the Indie Royale Alpha bundle? Anyone thinking of buying should wait until then.

There is a chance for this, as it is on Desura: http://www.desura.com/games/3079/

You can mine or find/dig up "Building Blocks," but since there's no item storage or crafting or anything I'm not sure what the point is. And none of the features like doors are placeable, so I think they're just there so you can build on-the-spot cover. Not a bad idea, but not enough to save the game.
