Can someone help me with the name of two games? I liked them long ago but one game was my friends and the other a jerk stole from me.
1st Game
You are driving around at high speed in a smallish tank with a 3D environment. It plays like an arcade shooter. You can easily switch between weapons. You can shoot rockets and I believe you had a gun of some type. It had a destructible environment.
2nd Game
An RTS style game that used Direct3D. Similar to Warzone 2100 where it's just vehicles. These were kind of robotish vehicles. Everything seemed to be brightly colored. You had a top down view and you could also jump into the vehicles to join in the combat.

I think the second one was made by Microsoft and was called Urban Assault.

Nope, good game though. Any other guesses?

I have a suspicion it's a mech game from back in the day.

You could drive inside of buildings to repair them. If that helps.
Any idea on the year for either game? Or at least a year range?
So it was an RTS but you jumped into single units if you wanted? Was it a 3rd person thing then or an in cockpit thing?

I'd say '98 but that's just a guess. It was a cockpit/f-person. You could manipulate the robot while inside of it. The graphics were very low poly. The construction vehicle had tank style treads but the upper portion was a torso. I think it used a green laser to build stuff.
Battlezone?
Not the original obviously, that was chock full of vector graphic goodness

Nope, another good game. You didn't have an avatar player. You just exist in top down view.

WOW, nope, not that old. This came on a CD and had state of the art graphics for it's time. I'd say Windows 98 area, around Quake 3.

It's not Mass Destruction, is it?

Nope, but it was 3rd person I forgot to mention that.
Mass Destruction does look interesting, never played it.

The first one seems very familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. Hmm.

I hope that comes here. I've got the original big box, but I haven't been able to play it since Win98, I think.

As do I. It is next to impossible to find now.
