Can someone help me with the name of two games? I liked them long ago but one game was my friends and the other a jerk stole from me.
1st Game
You are driving around at high speed in a smallish tank with a 3D environment. It plays like an arcade shooter. You can easily switch between weapons. You can shoot rockets and I believe you had a gun of some type. It had a destructible environment.
2nd Game
An RTS style game that used Direct3D. Similar to Warzone 2100 where it's just vehicles. These were kind of robotish vehicles. Everything seemed to be brightly colored. You had a top down view and you could also jump into the vehicles to join in the combat.

i'm quite sure the first one was tank racer

i enjoyed this one a lot.
you could shoot your opponents and blast them away.environment was partly destructable.
second one i'd vote for battlezone since this sounds quite simular as your description

Aatami: I have a suspicion that the second one is Machines
The first one seems very familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. Hmm.

Yep that's it! Thanks so much! All I need now is the first one.
Holy crud Machines is a 100$ a copy.

Nope, good guesses though. It wasn't a racing game but that one does look like fun.

Yes, I did.
Nope that's not it.
There's another tank game that the author is gving away for free. S.U.A.V.E.

But that's not it either. I think the guy stole his idea from the tank game I'm thinking of.
Oooh that does look familiar. I don't remember a sensation of driving fast though
The only other game I can think of that might fit is TankZ Destruction.
If thats not it, do you remember anything else about how the game looks?

Nope sorry, it's hard to remember all the details.
I remember the first level was kind of a sandy beach area with huge rocks that jetted out of the sand. Kind of like a border to keep you in the area of combat.

Nope, it wasn't cartoony.
It looks alot like S.U.A.V.E. It had huge areas.
