j0ekerr: Is this not why you are here?
Is that a Kung Fu cat, a cat waiter who has lost his apron and trays, a giant cat (that's a pretty small wall...), or one of those outspoken cats that never shuts up and yacks constantly about things no one's really interested in (we've all met them at bus stops, haven't we?) but we can't get away from?

By the way, that is EXACTLY why I'm here ;-)

JaqFrost: And we very much appreciate that you do. =) Thank you.
Yes, we sure do!

BTW, since the Fall Sale was just a couple of weeks ago, I was wodering of often does GOG does a similar sale. It is not even Winter yet, so I'm a bit confused.

Can someone elaborate on that, please?

HypersomniacLive: Well, since you can't spend that money yourself but feel so inclined to do so, I can help you with that. (~_^)
I am sure you can :D Actually I was looking at wishlists, but at the moment I am hesitating, since there is so much christmas gift shopping going on here it is quite complicated what you could buy without ending up with duplicates.

GOG seems to be changing things up. They usually don't have such a large sale in the fall and the Winter sale is usually started about a week later.

It feels wintery enough around here (Poland) so close enough for government work :P

MaxFulvus: Damned, I wanted to give today a -75% GOG code for Shadowrun Returns which expired December 10th, but with this new -80%, I can throw it in the fire :(
You can still give it on The soon to be expired and MAHAYO code dump and giveaway thread for anyone that might miss this deal and don't wish to wait until it comes back again... the difference is 0.76$ and it's way less intense - also in less then two days the flash chance will be gone.

A question for you, Judas (good afternoon as well, of course) - Of all the games on GOG, what would you say is one that is criminally underrated and needs to be purchased/played by more people?

Yes, it is chilly today in Portugal, too.

What other sales does GOG usually do, other than the seasons? Chrismtas? New Year? Easter? Talk Like a Pirate Day (ooh, that would be so cool ;-)?

Ether One.

Most people would probably dismiss it as walking sim but it's actually a decent puzzle/exploration game that doesn't try to talk down to people with some sort of 2deep4u storyline. On top of that, the puzzles actually make sense once you take the time to examine how they are designed.

Bionic Dues is another underrated game in my opinion. While there may be a faux anime art style in some places the game brings an interesting mechanic to the roguelike genre without diluting the term "roguelike" in a way that a lot of action-oriented games do by misusing the aforementioned term. It's not a perfect game but I think it's one of those hidden gems in Arcen's stable that really should get more attention as it has that unique Arcen Games touch all throughout :)

Generally? Whatever they feel like. -laughs- When we're lucky, we can get an Insomnia sale (extreme low prices, but you have to grab items quickly since there's a limit on each one's availability). The Mutator Sale (purchasing 3 games at deep discount, then being given the option to essentially gamble 2 dollars a pop to receive a random game that might be worth 6 dollars or 30) was also good.

Interesting. Already have Bionic Dues thanks to my latent Mechwarrior craving, but I've been on the fence about Ether One. Will pick it up when it comes along again. Thank you. =)

You won't regret it :) Also, it's really worth to get all 20 projectors working in the game as you get a much better ending if you do :)

The ones I've seen:

Spring/Easter
Summer
Birthday Promo (Sept.)
Halloween
Fall
Winter

There was also a St. Patrick's day sale earlier this year (a mutator style promo, buy three games and pick up to three boxes for a random game each) but I don't know if that's a regular one.

Edit:

katya_stevens: For anyone thinking of Xenonauts, I had a look at some of the let's plays last night and this one by MetalCanyon got straight into the action and gameplay of it.
avatar
Stilton: Excellent find, thank you ;-)
You're welcome :) I didn't have too much trouble finding an LP that jumped straight into things, that was the second one I looked at and ended up watching all the way through.

Coming back to what I said about wishlist checking.... you are seriously missing a really awesome game, at least in my opinion ;-) Is your wishlist up to date? :p

I'll be sure to keep that in mind. If I'm lucky, it'll show up at some point during the sale.
