HypersomniacLive: How's everyone doing today?

I see you've been quite chatty while I was gone, still catching up, but wanted to say a quick hello!

Cheers to moonshineshadow for saving CarrionCrow the backtracking! :-)

See you in a bit.

Not bad. I was able to get out of bed when I woke up. That is an automatic win for me.

Hello to all!

Lost most of the first day of sale but there is no harm done.

j0ekerr: I just realized that there are two good enough movies at low enough prices to certainly be attractive. Dark Dungeons and Austin High? Sure they might not be that great, but those are about the same price as a single beer.

Beer, or movies, beer or movies? What a dilemma. Why not beer with movies?
Let me help you here. Go grab a beer. (check PM)

j0ekerr: By the way I'd like to do a consultation on the STALKER games. from what I've seen, it look a little bit like fallout 3, but more shooty, placing more emphasis on the FPS part of the game but without foregoing the RPG elements. Is that right?

I loved Fallout 3, loved its ambience. Sometimes I just walked around to enjoy the gorgeous, bleak and thoroughly destroyed landscapes around me. Are these games as inmersive as Fallout 3 (and New Vegas too)?.
I've only played the first STALKER (Shadow of Chernobyl), so maybe it's more RPG-like in the later games, but it's mostly a shooter. The only RPG-like aspects are inventory management, equipping stuff with different bonuses, and looting items. But yeah, it's incredibly immersive. Very bleak and haunting at times, and some of the areas/missions get pretty intense knowing that there's something around, but not knowing what or where.

Oh my! Such generosity! Thank you so much. Truly this community is made up of rainbows and unicorns and cotton candy clouds and the kindness of strangers.

GOG forums are the closest thing to a real life Equestria I can think of.
Majorly off-topic: So I've now gone from happy to downright pissed off. Ordered a Wii U bundle a few days ago -- excellent deal, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D Land, two party games preinstalled, with a 8GB console and second Wii controller for £200. Got an email yesterday saying delivery (expected today) would be delayed until next Friday; got an email a short while ago saying "sorry, we can't source it, here's a £15 coupon instead".

Found out that the console version with the party games preinstalled goes for £250 on Nintendo's site, so someone majorly screwed up with pricing and/or demand. My husband's checking out other bundles and deals, while I'm annoyed enough to just say forget it.
Mm.. for me that ending ruined Dark Dungeons.. I know that is supposed to be a parody of that comic, but it didn't need to be identical! :\

IAmSinistar: Still on the fence about entering that. I'm such a pain to buy for.
Perhaps if we combined our efforts, we could please you! Yeah, you're such a pain! ;-P

donsanderson: Actually if I had a lot of gamer friends this would be a great time to pick up presents for them. I wonder if this is one of the things that influenced GOG's choice of games on sale and date?

I thought you had here on GOG. (╯︵╰,)

I did indeed, sleeping every other day is no fun, thanks for asking! ;-)

Poor moonshineshadow, you think I have only one hammer collection?

*unlocks vault with second, bigger collection while smiling mischievously*

OK, I've caught up with the thread, so I'd like to thank CarrionCrow, IAmSinistar, Sachys and Stilton for the slew of rather disturbing images they put into my head - much appreciated, guys! *shudders*

And there were some really good deals while I was AFK, hope that folks got what they wanted.

I've been thinking about that "48-hour FROST FLASH FRENZY!" and think that after the firs two days, the rate of Flash Deals will just slow done; perhaps some of the newer and more expensive titles won't come around again after that, but I doubt that the Flash Deals will go away completely.
A curious thought.

This sale ends the 15 of December, and considering how close the fall and winter sales have been...

Does anyone else think that there will also be a NEW YEAR'S SALE?

3 sales in rapid succession, the mind boggles. And yet, it seems like something GOG would do.

Yup. I fully expect them to.

That sucks.
This may or may not help, but anytime I'm feeling crappy, Biz Markie always cheers me up.

I am thinking that perhaps there will just be a reduce in the number of flash sales which are active at the same time. I also doubt they'll go away completely.
