CarrionCrow: Mage/shaman I can see. Melee mage would take some doing. (and possibly a troll or ork racial build so you don't have to dump as many points into body and strength right off the bat to keep them alive)
FoxySage: What? And have an actual optimal build? :O Blasphemy, i say! :P
Nay, worked fine enough really. Think i did pick a hybrid mage with a few melee points for the odd chance she got into close combat with enemies. For the most part i kept her in the back and used spells though. The only time i had any real trouble was the boss fight in the Asylum. Had to restart that fight once because my team got wiped. Tough bastard that minion he had. You know the one i'm talking about Carrion, right?
The original concept i had in mind was a hybrid mage/decker, but the game didn't allow me to make that (i think, been a while since i played it).
j0ekerr: And a honest discussion on the Shadowrun game?! I never played the pen&paper game, but I loved its setting, High-fantasy in a cyberpunk world? Hell yes.
The game looks very x-com to me, is that a good comparison?
FoxySage: I never played the P&P either. However i loved the high fantasy/cyberpunk setting too. That was the reason i picked it up in the first place. The story in the main campaign is a bit short and fairly linear, but other than that it was pretty decent, imo.
j0ekerr: Any minmaxers would be horrified at the mere notion of a non-specialized character.
FoxySage: I'm the opposite of those kind of people. I love making wacky and crazy concepts and see how they work out. (usually horrible, but some work surprisingly well) :D
Was thinking of a mage's squishy tendencies. Not so much optimization as trying to keep them alive long enough to build up. -laughs-
Can't remember the boss fight you're referring to, but taking that as a reminder that I need to run through Returns again. Also, a mage/decker should be doable. You'll take an Essence hit, which in turn will start screwing with spell cooldowns if it gets out of hand, but if you're only putting a datajack in for decking, it shouldn't be
too bad.
CarrionCrow: And just when it becomes intolerable for everyone else? When all involved are ready to lose their minds and quit?
Drop the hammer and make sure her character fails. Right after she's been built up to the point that she feels she can handle anything solo. Make her fail, crush her spirit, and preferably kill her character dead as a doornail.
genkicolleen: Muwahaha XD *rubs hands together gleefully* Sounds like just rewards to me! ;D
Indeed it does. >=)
Niggles: Has the emulated version of Wings appeared in this sale at all? or just the remastered one?
*looks through CarrionCrows massive wishlist*
The emulated version hasn't been on in either bundle or flash, just the remastered.
And no, you do NOT need to buy me anything.
CarrionCrow: If you're referring to me, I certainly haven't. Had to go run errands, just got back. If you're referring to Grargar, they're still going strong as well. =)
donsanderson: You still look tired though, perhaps I could send you some Visine?
I actually slept, so doing well. Resupplied, all the chemical levels are where they should be, got through shopping without going to jail for taking out their P.A. system. Not too bad overall. ;)
