:D Thanks a lot !!! I'll tell you if it works (I suppose I must wait a bit)
It's really windy, I won't put a feather outside today... :-|
Hey everyone, thanks for the well wishes. I wish we knew what was wrong. He had cancer about two or three years ago but had been better. Last month started losing a lot of weight mysteriously. Then at the weekend he managed to slice his eye and the vet first though it might need to be removed as it was leaking badly. It got better but still needed to be checked everyday. This morning his other eye has a legion/blister too and the vet thinks may not be a scratch at all but it could be feline herpes but isn't sure. He has put a bit of weight back on though so that's good.

I certainly know what you mean about the bills. I think we could probably have bought a car wih the money we've spent on him... and every time he has a check up and a blood test, even if he's been fine for months, it's shown something odd which meant more visits and testing every week till it turned out to be nothing...

So he has about seven different medications to take and to go back on Monday to see how he is.

Sorry to hear that! I hope the medicine helps. It's always so difficult to see your pets ill. Hopefully they'll be able to figure out what's wrong.

Thanks, he generally seems to be fine. He just likes to scare us and cost us lots of money every now and again :/

I don't suppose any one needs to hire an artisan street food van in January or February? We could really use the work... :(
A bump for the backup list.

I wish him well, or at least, better.

Thanks. Like I say, he generally seems fine, and a lot better then he was on Monday. But it's just waiting and seeing what happens (he couldn't just have some normal easy to diagnose problem, oh no)

No, of course not, that'd be too easy. :P Your cat sounds kind of like me - I never run into simple problems. If something goes wrong for me, you can trust that it'll go badly wrong.

Lol. Yeah, that sounds about right. On top of anything else, he doesn't like me much and bites me pretty much any time I go near him, so my girlfriend has to do all the medicating extra...

Is he sterilized ? He could gain some weight after that !

Oh yes! Medicating animals. Fun. My mother's cat needed pills twice a day for years (he's now down to one). Well ... let's just say it was quite an adventure each time. He's reasonably well-behaved when my mother does it, but he won't let my sister or stepfather do it - he'll fight them tooth and nail. :P I can usually manage to get him to swallow it when I'm at home, but I've been scratched on occasion as well.

Yeah, he was sterilized years ago. He's never been a big cat, and it was stomach cancer he had. But the steroids he was taking did increase his appetite and he was at least a normal healthy weight until recently when he just started losing loads of weight.

Yeah, it's kind of lucky it was him and not our other cat. He at least takes the tablets quite easily (now, after three years) for my girlfriend. Our other cat barely lets you hold her without squirming and biting. I can't imagine medicating her twice a day...
