CarrionCrow: I've bought over 500 games in the last 14 months, I buy things for no other reason than gut feeling and I blindside gift people silly at the drop of a hat.
So much for restraint....-giggles-
avatar
Ragnarblackmane: Wow, would that I could afford to do such a thing, especially the gifting. I kind of marvel at some people's libraries when checking the wiki, wondering how they find the time to play all those games. Steam is even worse; a lot of people have upwards of 500 games but seem to play the same few dozen.
Upshot of being a compulsive sales fiend. Did that with very little cash, compared to what it'd cost to get that kind of stockpile at face value. All I've needed is a willingness to cause myself pain and discomfort to save money. -laughs-
(Gods, I love you so much, Insomnia sale! Why the hell aren't you here right now!?!?!?!)

The beauty of getting things through GOG is that I can have a stockpile that will last me years. Right now, if I could only buy a single game a month from here on out, I'd still be set for years. And that isn't an exaggeration, actual YEARS. It's great. =)

Trouble is most of the time I feel guilty buying myself a game, as if I should be donating money to one of many causes I care about or something else more. Then I figure I'll buy someone else a game, or buy a bundle if it has something I want and then things I can give to other people, to justify the act. There are more complex reasons behind it all but I'm too tired to really put it all into words just now, so I'm going to say goodnight. Good luck tracking.

The world can't be saved by one person. It's too damaged, too flawed and too systematically decayed for that. Depriving yourself or beating yourself up every single time only serves as self-punishment.
Goodnight to you as well.
as if people intend playing games they by. so funny.

I intend to. If it takes me the rest of my life, I will clear my wishlist and then my backlog. There is not a single game purchased that I will not play to the end. I'm not buying these so they can take up space on a hard drive until I'm too blind, too chock full of arthritis or too brainfried to do so.
What's the point of toys if you never take them out of the box? ;)

Even Hatoful Boyfriend?

Honestly? I'm thinking of taking some extra time when it comes to the truly atrocious ones. Get a stream set up, see if my crap internet can sustain it so it's viewable to others, then whenever I feel like hurting myself with something, post a thread here for whoever feels like watching someone do something incredibly stupid. =)
I bought a game on Shiny Loot. Was most expensive game I've ever bought as it sounded so good. I've only ever reviewed one game. It was that one. I was so offended I needed to warn potential buyers. I.. almost got my money back for it, but the scarring will remain forever. I'd love to meet the person who made it one day.

Compared to that, I'm quite sure that pigeons will not be THAT bad. If they come around again while I'm watching, I'm not sure I'll bother fighting the urge to buy into that train wreck.

Well, there's only one other game coming to mind as bad enough to put onto the "this needs public evisceration" pile, but I'm going to spend what coin I have left on things I actually want to play.
More than enough torture to get started. -laughs-
I'd watch your vids crow. If you did them straight. If there was a channel out there that played clunkers, yet played them straight and let the crap speak for itself then I've never seen it.

"Is it really that bad?" or something simillar. that would be new ground.

Nelson HAHA channels are a dime a baker's dozen.

Oh, I'd say there's no other way to do it. Let it speak for itself. If it's somehow been unfairly maligned, you'll notice. Course, you'll also notice if the game is such a steaming pile that it never should have seen the light of day,

Was wondering if a forumite was daring enough to make their own lets play (or it seems in your case "Here is the gameplay from a truly shite game -- watch me play it so you dont have to waste your time!!" hehehe)

-laughs- Yeah, that's pretty much what it'd be. Either that or "watch me suffer for your entertainment".
just how difficult are those channels to set up? Maybe a GOG community channel would not be a bad thing? Sort of like the wiki. Sort of. Random people from in here play whatever. They play it their way. Anyone would sign up and be as active or as lurkish as they wanted. Is that possible?

No clue. I know GOG does a community channel of streaming gameplay already. Willing to bet a person has all kinds of restrictions when it comes to personal conduct for that, though. Don't get mad, don't paint the game in a bad light that'd damage sales, don't call it a piece of shit and scream at it. Don't get drunk and babble about things like games that don't suck while you're streaming.
You know....that kind of stuff.

And I'll be completely honest. If anyone were to tune in for a stream of Pigeonfucker: The Simulation? You had better believe I will be -
A. Drunk.
B. Screaming.
C. Screaming more when I'm not making fun of the game or actively begging viewers to kill me and end my pain.
