Ragnarblackmane: Good evening/morning/afternoon as the case may be for everyone. Evening for me at the moment. Catching up on this thread I decided to purchase Battle Isle Platinum...but not for myself...for a giveaway! I just wrapped up one and decided to do another.

Please everyone who's been posting here consider entering if the game interests you at all.
Thanks for the heads up! ;)

CarrionCrow: Going to join in the age conversation with a statement I tell a relative whenever they comment on their age - you either get old, or you get dead. (I know, not the most grammatically sound bit of wording there, but it gets the point across.)
avatar
donsanderson: I'll add my little piece to that, my line is:
When you stop learning is when you start dying.
I still learn something new every day so I'm cool for now. ;-)
That definitely flows better. -laughs-

CarrionCrow: Already have that one, but it's quite thoughtful of you to share the giveaway info. Thank you. =)
I saw IAS recommending it here and decided that since several people were interested I'd pick it up. So far I've gotten games for my Secret Santa giftee and that 1 for a GA. I better be careful, I'll lose my Dwarf cred!
Damn it....I frigging know that if I grab certain things, GOG will throw them in the flash and piss me off....
I can feel it. I've talked wayyyyyyyyyy too much shit about the timer for it to not screw me over now.

innocuous77: Maturity is entirely overrated, whatever the age.

But to age... I remember the ring of a modem as an adult. I remember being in high school when computer science was a thing, and no girls were aloud to take those classes. I remember multiplayer games involved a serial cable. I remember what Sierra was doing and wanted to be Jane Jenson when I grew up (and I was already deep into my 20s). I remember reading Scorpia for game reviews (who later bacame a friend).

Yep, I'm 'of an age' - maturing has nothing to do with it. Hello, new friend.

donsanderson: I was a legal adult at the beginning of this timeline so feel young my new found friend. ;)
avatar
CarrionCrow: That reminds me....have you seen Jane Jensen's latest items, Gray Matter and Moebius: Empire Rising?
avatar
donsanderson: Own but haven't started Gray Matter, Moebius sounds kinda awful. ;)
Fair enough - I'll trade age numbers if you will (GOG marketing will love it). Hi 48! (whoo hoo - not dead yet!!!)

The only good reviews of Moebuis if from folks who know Jane's work.Once finals are over, I'm digging in and playing the game. Whiskey might be involved...

Yeah, thanks to them, I got locked into the enjoyment and the masochistic nightmare known as Escape Goat....
I think the little teddy bear being smashed by the planet is cute.

Yes, they are. If only they were more of a mascot and less a harbinger of website doom....

AgentBirdnest: I was a legal adult for the MacBook Pro.
Am I the youngest person here?
At least a 30 year difference in our ages and we all get along fine. Wish the rest of this asinine world could do that. :/

Ouch, I'd almost forgotten about that damn goat. The game was great - once I'd completed it. But that other 'Welcome to masochist's hell' part was too much. I'd go back and play the game proper, maybe, but the other bit is the stuff of twitching, yapping nightmares.

Stilton: Prost (clink!)
Did I miss something here, was there something edited out that got high-rated, and was decided to be so awesome it had to be deleted?:)

I know. I'm halfway through that masochist's hell and still working on the other. =)

Getting along fine takes thought and effort. Two qualities too many people are not even aware of.

Not at all - CC is mentally 12... 112.

That was something I wrote, but deleted because it used up too much 'quote space' in a follow up comment I was making.
