FoxySage: The songs on the Celtic Circle albums fits D&D campaigns aswell. Or if you like me read a lot of fantasy novels it is great for background music.

Never actually played a D&D campaign in IRL though. D: Closest i've come to that experience was DM events back when i played on NwN1 servers.
That actually is closer than you think.

I also find that Nightwish meshes beautifully with any World of Darkness (the old one) campaigns. Be it Werewolf, Vampire or Mage.

This isn't music - its a way of life, a creed, a culture, a vital component in the hearts and minds of a mighty people who will overcome all! Who will never be defeated!! WHOSE BATTLE CRY WILL ALWAYS AND FOREVER BE -----

---I say, its rather good, isn't it.....

hummer010: HEY! I was drinking that!!

I'm still here. I'm just pondering all this talk of rain while eyeing up the metre of snow outside my window.

I hadn't even noticed. Now I can't stop watching it. Thanks.

trentonlf: Pretty trippy huh LOL

I wish I had your snow. My favorite time of year and type of weather.
I like snow. I just get tired of moving it. I've got 200' of driveway to deal with. I've got horses that I need to get hay to, and the only thing I have to move the snow with is a '48 Ford tractor with a back blade. My Ford is remarkably reliable, despite being 66 years old, but it isn't very good at moving snow. No front wheel assist, no locking diff, and it's geared too high. A back blade isn't ideal either.

I have visions of a smaller front mount blade for it, but I've never managed to put it together yet.

armitom: Does anyone know if the D&D bundle will be available again?

I'm a fool and missed it :P
avatar
foxworks: You might catch it again on the final day of the sale.
Ok thanks, i will keep an eye out ;)

Rig up a flamethrower on the hood (careful of the horses....) Then put some loud music on and get melting.

We are one, we are many we are united in love of metal, praise be to fire and steel and the Norse gods.

Nightwish had a bit of a spike in popularity here when Evanescense were popular.

"Oh you are listening to Evanescense! Have you Heard Nightwish?"

Over the hills and far away is such an awesome song.

j0ekerr: I find your lack of metal knowledge, disturbing. You'd better start doing a youtube crawl for all things metal or face the wrath of the army of immortals.
avatar
donsanderson: Personally I'm not much of a metal fan, more the classic rock and classical type. But Nightwishes vocalist grabbed me right away. ;)
Ex-vocalist. This is an important detail if you're about to investigate their back catalogue.

Ah, thank you.

Finally sprung for Xenonauts, into CC money if I wish to continue this madness! ;)

THAT... IS... AWESOME! Viking ingenuity once again saves the day!

Yeah, evanescence were a decaff, watered down version of Nightwish for mass-market consumption.
avatar
LeoLR: That's nice! I didn't know Nightwish.
They seem to be worth to listen more.

Was that directed to me? I like them. Only recently (well recent and recent, was a few years ago by now) heard of Manowar.
Hmm, so no King of Dragon Pass flash sale this time around? I wanted to pick up a copy for a friend the last time around but I kept missing it.

I'd be interested to know what you think, when you get around to playing it..... These backlogs are like the best homework in the world ;-)

True, the new one tries, but doesn't quite seem to have the same range as their former vocalist.

I also like Sonata Arctica, despite the main vocalist very noticeable squawks at the higher notes in some songs.

Nope, sorry. It was actually for Stilton. He's our resident viking bard.

Yup, i realize that. A lot of the people i played with on the servers had played D&D for many years.

I'd think it goes well with Ravenloft too then. One my favourite D&D settings.
