budejovice: Just to keep you guys in the loop, I've added my number to my forum title (according to gog, no outside calculations here).

EDIT: Which is 8 more than last night... o_0
XD - you're helpless!

Have to wonder though - what do you mean by mountain bum? ↁ_ↁ

adaliabooks: Wait, I forgot the fur.

How about this?
This is awesome. Does the whole clan get one or only our mighty Warrior with the headache?

I think it could be some sort of clan badge?

ddickinson: Don't tell me you fell for the whole eye for wisdom thing? That's just what he told the other gods. In reality, despite his wife warning him not to, he was running around with his pointy axe and he fell and gouged his eye out. "I did tell you that you would have someone's eye out with that thing" said his wife. He was so upset that the other gods would laugh at him, so to stop him crying his wife came up with the wisdom idea. :-)
That's a charming version, but see, I'm Snorri Sturlusonsonsonsonsonsonsonsonson so I know what really happened, naturally.

avatar
adaliabooks: Nevermind an eye for wisdom, didn't he hang on a tree (possibly impaled, I can't remember without looking it up) for seven days for magical power?

Odin was pretty bad ass.

Alcohol of any form is the best medicine, for any ailment.
According to Havamal, yep. With his own spear, no less.

That's a great idea!

@Stilton

What do you say, oh great Bard?
Has there ever been a Tom Clancy bundle? I'd be interested in buying those games.

IAmSinistar: At the Mountains of Madness is one of my most favourite HPL works, and the DLC is brutal fun. Old Ones, Shoggoths, giant blind penguins, and perhaps worst of all, falling icicles that you have to constantly be vigilant for.
Ooooh. Did not know about the MoM extension, but I love that story! I may have to move that game right on up the play-soon-list. I would love to see it show up on GOG sometime, since I missed Humble and snagged it on Steam.

avatar
IAmSinistar: It is frustrating, yes. Fortunately I was able to take it out on my SS recipient, who frankly has had it coming for a long while. :)
....I'm not sure if that sounds like a promise or a threat. LOL

avatar
moonshineshadow: Yeah, another not Viking member :D
avatar
PaterAlf: I can't imagine a Viking Cookie Monster. I'm not even sure the Vikings had cookies.
Bwahahahahahahahah! Thank you for the awesome image of Cookie Monster in a winged helmet singing Wagner. Or was that just me? Um. *backs away slowly*

avatar
Arinielle: Aaaand the hubby races into the door and kicks my computer out of sleep mode to grab Alan Wake for me with just seconds to spare.

...I love him. Crazy to push that far when I said I wasn't going to worry because the youngest of the cats fell asleep on me and I didn't want to get out of bed. Well, I have the game now and grinning ear to ear.
That's wonderful! He sounds like a definite keeper. :) And I personally think that not moving due to cat is a perfectly good reason for remaining where you were. Of course, I've been trained by many cats over the years, so I'm probably a wee bit biased.

And this ends my trying to play catch up with this thread! I've read four pages and five more have been added!

There's a clan? If I got a 65% in the Viking test, can I be part of it? Pretty please?

Everybody gets one, no doubt about it. Even the horses!
I took the test and got 80% Viking, although in reality I would be like 15% LOL

Verb definitions 1 and 1.1 do the trick quite nicely, thank you very much. :)

But that made me think. Washington... mountains... bums...

Got one! http://peakbagger.com/peak.aspx?pid=28363 From the looks of it, attached, it just may have acquired that name in the british kind of way?

EDIT: Never personally climbed near it, but I do love the North Cascades. Here's a trip report from a guy I know with plenty of photos: http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=949941

EDIT2: The "Heather" pictured in that trip report is the fastest person to ever finish the Pacific Crest Trail, stretching 2,663 miles (4,286 km) from Mexico to Canada. Not the fastest woman. The fastest person. And she beat the previous guy by days. She was featured in an article in Backpacker magazine a few months ago.

On the trail they only knew her as The Ghost.

FINAL EDIT: article on her speed record in 2013: http://www.hcn.org/blogs/goat/the-fastest-woman-in-the-west Her record was smashed by someone else this year.

65% is fine with me. Grab an axe and get swinging ;-)

Yes, everyone with 50% and more joins the clan of our mighty Warrior Stilton.

Yay! Let's roast some more marshmallows and drink more ale to celebrate!

Plenty for every member of the clan, be it two legged, four legged and everything in between. :-)

Yep, but please don't make a habit out of this.

You can come in for nothing - we need someone to record our mighty exploits, and I can think of no one better ;-)
