Grargar: The funny thing is that it's also never discounted on Steam.
avatar
Cyraxpt: It's almost as they forgot that the game exists.

avatar
phaolo: But can you import your characters into the expansion?
Also, did you like the first game's story? How was the gameplay, good enough or so-so?
avatar
Cyraxpt: No, you start fresh, different characters (including you) different story. And i have to say, the first game is great, perhaps the 2nd one is so good that makes the first one look awfull because i don't get the hating, i really enjoyed the game, my only complain is the 2nd arc of the story, the first arc had this futurist noir detective thing going, the 2nd part just ruins it. But that's my personal opinion, not sure if it's also a major complain.

Edit: Before someone slaps me in the head, i'm not sure if your character is the same as the previous one (unfortunately i only play the first mission, tutorial) but you don't have the same stuff from the previous game. I think there's a way but that would break the game since your character would be overpowered.
The second part really doesn't get any help from the frankly obnoxious gameplay mechanic they include for a lot of the enemies. That was intensely annoying.
Also, I don't think they're the same character. Different people, different places. Shadowrun Returns is based out of Seattle, Dragonfall is based out of Berlin if I remember correctly. Might be the wrong city but I know it centers around Germany.

RandomJC: I will be distracted by a laser pointer right now.

IAmSinistar: In that case...

HypersomniacLive: I do wonder though it that "48-hour FROST FLASH FRENZY!" indicates that the Flash Deals will end in two days and be hopefully replaced with something we haven't seen before on GOG, or that we'll be left only with the bundle deals till Dec 15.
I believe it means we'll go down to one-at-a-time flash deals. Gird yourself for the sucking!
avatar
moonshineshadow: I need to go home now, so don't have all the fun without me ;-)
see you all later :-)
Can't say I sense much fun so far.
I would also like to apologize for my ill behavior. I was out of line earlier.

CarrionCrow: I passed the frigging agony point about 5,000 dead goats ago! -laughs-

And I'm not even halfway done with that nightmare!
avatar
IAmSinistar: It's my agony that is halved by recommending this game. I have the same deal with the Devil - I get my (eternal) sentence in Hell halved for every additional person I lure there. ;)
Well, hate to break it to you, but you're going to get jack squat cut off your sentence trying to lure me somewhere I hang out on a regular basis. ;)
Two other things you might find amusing - I was actually thinking of buying Escape Goat 2 in the midst of my Escape Goat 1 torment. And then I thought to myself, "What if the jumping mechanic's different, I'll be even more screwed than I am now if I try to learn different platforming for each game and have to alternate!".
And then I think I kinda scream-cry-laughed a bit....
Sales, ALREADY ?! :-O
(hehe, they struck the "FALL" and write "WINTER" above it... nice allusion...)
I'm glad to read you here ! :-D I was missing the last sales thread too...
I must change my picture ; everybody wear a christmas hat, I want mine :-)
Happy Winter Sales, everybody !!
I've already bought the Age of Wonders bundle, Blitzkrieg II and Blackwell Bundle...
Luckily I've got paid ^^

Not to mention that the dubious mathematics of halving an infinite means there will be no practical reduction. :)

Understandable, and I recommend finishing the first before attempting the second. But that being said, the second is better in every way, and even the most agonising boards there yield once you have solved the proper course of action. There is much less of the brutal jump timing overall.

HypersomniacLive: I think that "30 FLASH DEALS EVERY HOUR" is a bit misleading. It's the exact same concept as the Fall Sale, and there are not even 30 deals live at any given time.
one word : COFFEE ;)
avatar
phaolo: Thanks but.. wait a moment guys.. checkpoints, no loot, no inventory in the first game? :O
Uhm? Where did you get that from? There's checkpoints (i think, i can't remember) but you can also save outside battles, and you do have loot and inventory.

That too, i think they wanted to make more "strategic" since you had to count the turns for the two phases of those enemies.
As for the story, like i said, i only played the first mission (because the rest has stuttering problems and i'm waiting for a patch) and they mentioned something about the main character past so i assumed that could be related to SR Returns.

I'll probably end up with the second by the time the sale's done, unless a lot of older items show up to wipe out my coin beforehand.
Did a bit of reading on the developer, and they list their favorite game as Dark Souls, which makes sense. But, since I'm old and get annoyed at people acting like Dark Souls is the hardest game ever to exist, I will compare some of Escape Goat to such fun-filled times as Ninja Gaiden, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Battletoads for the NES.
Just frigging maddeningly hard to beat.
Is it me or did this just show up out of nowhere?

Just refreshed my front page and saw the news entry for it.
Also, saw in the other thread that you have regained the ability to conveniently caffeinate yourself silly. =)
