donsanderson: If they go for the whole sale about 8-1/2 days. :-(
avatar
Niggles: the flash sales are only for 48 hours..

god they really are flogging the pants off BGEE2. Mustnt be selling well ;)
I don't think it's a stretch to say they're engaged in full-scale independent game pants-flogging. The whole flash sale's been chock full of them.

CarrionCrow: Yes, actually. I like a fair number of pie types. Chocolate cream, apple, pumpkin, peach. I occasionally have a bit of pecan pie, but it's so rich that it's never been a number-one favorite.

Also, thank you again for your gift. I had my eye on that one, and was very pleasantly surprised to see it in my message box. =)

AgentBirdnest: I'm just glad the message was sent successfully without my computer exploding and setting my house on fire. (I have major message sending anxiety.)

As for chocolate cream pie - that is the best freaking invention since... The telescopic jigger rod.
I'll never turn down a key-lime pie, though.
It's okay. Everything went fine. The message sent, I got it, the code worked, everything's good. =)
Also, I need to try some key lime pie. Can't remember the last time I actually had some. Thank you for reminding me. =)

I don't think I've ever tried key lime pie; I should, since I keep hearing about it. I do know that I won't turn down a good pumpkin pie any time of year. My birthday is in the spring, but my family stopped making cakes years ago and instead I get a nice pumpkin pie... in fact, there are often two of them: One for me and one for everyone else. :D

Niggles: oh no....
Oh yes. Did you get sick to death of the last sale's pacing? Well, buckle up then and prepare to feel the pain just like you did the first time, because we're doing it again! 8 and a half days of it, baby!
Energy? Passion? Simple interest? All those things can suck it, because we're going slow!
Elderly person fresh out of artificial hip surgery slow! Heroin-filled turtle slow!
Because everyone likes the pace so....frigging....much....

I *guess* its better than them just trundling out a new bundle a day...* go PoP go Pop*

Sounds like me. -laughs- Had to actually step back from the pumpkin a bit, before it got completely out of hand.
Also, I left a message in the gift giving thread. Hopefully your gift giver will see it so there's absolutely no chance they gift you what I already did.

LynetteC: Where in Yorkshire if you don't mind my asking? I'm in Hull. :-)
avatar
ddickinson: I'm in a little farming village at the other side of Yorkshire (North Yorkshire), next to the Pennines. I have been to Hull though, a month or so ago to visit some friends. I did a bit of sightseeing while I was there and you have some wonderful museums, especially the maritime museum with the whale skeleton. The Deep (I think that's what it was called, the aquarium place) was very good as well, the penguins looked so cute plodding around.
I used to work in the Business Centre opposite The Deep, with a view to die for from the window right next to my desk. I used to love taking photos of the "traffic" for my daughter - there were some impressive ships that went past in my few years there. We had to move as the lease ran out and now I just look out over roads and a car park! all day. :-(

I lived in Richmond for a few years in the early 90s when I worked on Catterick Garrison and I learned to drive in Northallerton. It's a beautiful area and I'd love to move back there one day.
Regarding BG2 EE --- are the GOG reviews correct? ..Sounds like bug infested (400 is incredulous is true as at launch on gog..) ???

I love pumpkin pie, but it always makes me nauseated :(

I have a really stupid stomach.

They're working on the bugs, but the first one is as far as I've been willing to commit so far, and that one had some bugs that I had to get resolved before I could even do things like open treasure chests or enter buildings.
Would say honestly that all three EE games probably need at least another 6 months before you're going to see a relatively bug-free experience.
**And Now For Something Completely Different** (TM M. Python)

How about a little trivia quiz?
Some things about GOG I haven't been able to figure out, in order of importance:

1.) The "Cheese Biscuits" always offered so generously by our foxy friend Foxworks, I get the picture of a baking powder biscuit with a slice of cheese on it. (Which imo needs an egg and bacon to be complete)
How wrong am I?

2.) The "Grey" which now appears in so many avatars and titles, is this in reference to GOG's new color deficient theme, or zombies, or something else?

3.) The term "Sigil", usually mentioned in threads involving our resident chimp Sachys, what the hell is it?

*** Thank you for taking the time to complete this quiz and enlighten this puzzled one. :-)

1. I don't know
2. The grey was goggers way of protesting the change to the color scheme, GOG took away all the color :(
3. The sigil is a group of people who gift a 9.99 code to someone for a game, and Sachy's is the front person so the sigil people can stay secret

1. Thinking that cheese biscuits are like the ones you get at Red Lobster, with the cheese baked in. You're thinking cheese on a biscuit, which definitely as you said need an egg and some kind of (generally pork-related) meat product to be complete. =)

2. Pretty sure it's referring to the color scheme that makes GOG look like it's had the essence sucked out of it by a level-draining D&D monster.

3. Sigil, the City of Doors is the primary point of the Planescape campaign setting of 2nd edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. It is also the primary city in the game Planescape Torment, which is based on the aforementioned pen and paper game setting. =)

foxworks is better suited to answer the first one.

The Grey is indeed a reference to GOG switching to a fresher, better look and feel.

The Sigil is supposedly a group of GOGgers that financed the "Absent friends" GA series, hosted by Sachys. But nobody knows for sure if it's indeed a group of members or just one member or if Sachys wasn't just messing with our brains for a year now.
Thanks for the (really) quick answers! ;) I will verify the first with MrCheese Biscuit and report back. ;-)
