yyahoo: sorry, I meant times, not hours. The flash sales repeat quite a bit through sales like this...

gamesfreak64: its okay :D
i was already wondering :D

i did notice however that there a re some games the are re-entering much faster and more often:

the dungeons collection
tex murphy games
and some of those japanse cartoon like games
gabriel knight games

the less known games like the banner saga dont show up to fast or often

i have some from the dungeons package (baldurs and the likes)
also own arcanum

avernum, and the spiderwebs games

just wanted to see if the banner saga was all tha bad... at 5 dollars (even less in euros) it would be a nice chance to see for myself if it sux
videos never show you how a game works and feels, only how the sound and graphics are
only playable game demos can show if you like a game, and there's a great shortage of gamedemos.
in the past every game had a demo, now its hard to find a playbale demo (no rolling demos cause thats like a video, cause you can control it)
This is only day 2, there hasn't been enough time for every one of the initial flash sale games to reappear twice, let alone multiple times. Now, Banner Saga could be one of those games that appears only once or twice during the entire sale, but I think it's too early to determine that just yet...

LOL best descriptor for JRPGs ever! ;)
I was really interested in picking up Shadow Warrior (2013) at 90% off in the flash deals, but the following review stopped me:

----------------------------------------------
Did not work properly by marquize

"Well in all honesty I didn't even give the game itself a try because I didn't get that far before the installation broke the software of my computer. I'm running a legally bought copy of Windows 7 64-bit, so no pirated BS here. When I installed the game and all of the included extras I got a installer wizard for .NET 4.5 saying "you already have 4.5 or newer installed" getting only the option to close the window. Right after closing that window I get a system popup saying "Your PC will shut down in less than a minute" only getting the option to close this one as well, and so it was. Computer restarts, .NET wizard directly before OS even loads completely with the rest of the screen only being black and not loading, as soon as I close this I get the same popup, "Your PC will shut down in less than a minute". Had to start the computer in safe mode and uninstall the game and all components before it got fixed. Might be a great game but I won't touch anything that puts my PC at risk."

I use Windows 7 64-bit myself, and didn't want to risk corrupting my PC/operating system. Does anyone know whether this .NET 4.5 installer wizard issue is still messing up the installation process and forcing your PC into restart loops? (eventually forcing you to uninstall the game) Or was the reviewer referring to a Steam copy of the game and the GOG copy actually installs without issue?

If owners of the game here (who also use Windows 7 64-bit) can clarify that the GOG copy installs fine without this .NET 4.5 wizard popup issue and that the game runs clean, I'll reconsider picking the title up if it cycles back into the flash deals again.

Cheers!

Well I played it a while back on Steam and had absolutely no problems (Windows 7 64bit, same as you). I'd say go for it. I'm not a big fan of FPS games and absolutely loved the game, using the katana most of the time.

doublebass: snip
Just for you, I decided to install my GOG copy of the game and was not prompted to install 4.5 .NET or something else on my Windows 7-64 bit system. I ran it and was playing the game without any problems.

funny thing is indeed that if you have 5 games that require net 4.5 and 1 asks to install net 4.5
that after you installed it... the other games still ask for 4.5 to be installed again

but i guess thats windows :D no matter what version, no matter how modern it will be, tehre will always be some
'shits' going on....

i just googled on: net 4.5 keeps asking to be installed

About 118,000 results (0.16 seconds)

seems lots of people are asking same questions some topics are date january 2014 and some are recent like a steamforum question on nov 24th now thats only 11 days ago

Oh I totally understood - it was a perfect way to describe them! I now have a funny new way to refer to JRPGs. Thank you!
