Truly. :)

So are games still appearing in blocks of six, even with this new arbitrary end time for each one?

Niggles: I was toying with idea of buying something similar a while back when i had an itch for driving games (which i eventually didnt give in to although i bought race driver grid hahaha)....... Hows the wheel perform with pc games in general?
I'm a total n00b with racing/driving games and never driven a manual transmission before so I'm having fun with it but have no idea WTF I'm doing for the most part yet. LOL Fortunately some of the games let you switch to an automatic transmission so I can get some experience with the game without wiping out figuring out shifting gears. :) I've only used the wheel with 2 games so far though, "GT Legends" which forced feedback works and almost rips my arms off literally, the motors in this racing wheel are very powerful and give a feeling that feels very much like the friction of a real steering wheel, and while I've never driven a race car I can imagine that the friction and bumping around the wheel does on the race track mimics the feel of the wheel in a real car as well. It can literally rip the wheel out of your hands if it wants to, and it needs to be mounted firmly to a table or desk or something connected very sturdily to the ground or it's going to move all over the place while fighting the forced feedback for sure. :) Sadly, GT Legends does not appear to support the stick shifter nor paddle shifter and shifts gears with two buttons on the shifter unit that are not in the best location for doing that. I'm not sure if it is possible to reconfigure that within the game or within the Logitech software yet because I haven't figured it all out yet, but I'm guessing it can be configured more friendly as that's my experience with all other Logitech hardware to date. :)

The other game I've used it with is GTA IV, and the wheel works with the default friction (presumably configurable in the Logitech profiler but I haven't fiddled with that yet), and the accelerator and brake. As far as I can tell there is no gear shifting in GTA4 so all vehicles are presumably automatic transmission but thats fine with me. The one quirk so far is that the brake pedal doesn't just act as a brake, but also as a reverse accelerator, so if you brake and don't let go you'll start going backwards which is not desireable. Again, that may be configurable within the game, the Logitech software or some plugin/mod for the game (there are several apparently).

Despite my kind of adhoc experiments so far though, the wheel is amazing feel and adds a tremendous amount of realism to the games. Normally in the Grand Theft Auto games you end up crashing your car into all kinds of stuff every 10 seconds while driving around due to the 3rd person perspective, and the lack of control you get from a keyboard, accelerator is either floored to the metal or off. With the wheel and in 1st person perspective however and a proper accelerator/brake, you can drive much more like a real car and have much more careful control over your speed and where you're going, so you get in wayyyyyyyy less accidents, and can get around much more quickly and accurately. The one flaw I've found so far is that in 1st person perspective when you're at intersections you want to look in the side mirror and left and right to ensure traffic is clear and there's no easy way to do that that I've found yet. I need to google around and see what options I have for that. I do have a NaturalPoint TrackIR head tracking device though which would be just perfect in GTA if the game were to support it but I doubt that is the case. Perhaps someone might have made a game mod to do it though or the emulation mode might work if the game supports analog joystick for head movement within the car (I think it does). I need to fire up my head tracker one of these days and see if I can get it to play ball somehow in GTA4, and if so it will be an amazing experience to say the least!

I've got about a dozen other racing/driving games kicking around I haven't redeemed or installed yet, plus the 2 new GOG ones, and I believe there are varying degrees of wheel support in most if not all of them, but it looks like you need to google around for each game to look for tips and tricks for customizing the configuration with a given wheel in order to get the best out of it.

Having said that, the wheel is amazing and having even one game where it works awesome is enough reason to own one IMHO. Now I just need to build myself a better wheel and shifter mount than the unstable adhoc setup I have going right now. :oP
There will be 21 games finishing at the same time........
Looking at Shattered Haven. Anyone want to sell me on that one?

Right now it looks interesting, but in that trailer and the screenshots the individual sprites seem to be so damn small, like I would need a mega-sized TV to be able to not have to squint. Can someone concur on this?

Edit: What the!?! Man, that is very little time to be on there... going to take a chance and just get it, even though it is not one of those I was looking to get.

But they still each came on in a group of six, yes? I just need to know in case the grouping on my tracking posts is also wrong, as I was asleep when this new phenomenon hit.

If you do, be sure to visit one of those bargain comparison sites. I use shopbot.ca, while someone in the US might use pricegrabber.com or pricewatch.com. Dunno what's available in .au but I'm sure there's something down under. :) I just waited until it was on massive blowout sale and got it for $199 instead of $299, but with appropriate discounts and creative pricematching across retailers one could get it even lower with enough patience. :) It's well worth the money now that I have it. The wheel, pedals are solid stainless steel and weighted. I almost dropped the box as it weighed about 3 times more than my brain expected it to when the delivery guy handed it to me hehe. ;) Very good quality unit IMHO.

The still do. I suspect the change has to do with the new daily bundles coming up in a few minutes.
