Oathe: I couldn't agree more with everything you say here. I'm actually surprised at the amount, and the quality of the free games GOG has supplied us with over the years. I think the first one I got was Torchlight a couple years ago for Christmas. That made my day.
My first freebie was the Tex Murphy 1+2 promo in 2009, then the various permanent freebies and then I think Torchlight might have been the next temporary freebie I snagged. I've missed out on several one dayers over time but I think I picked up most of them either in sales or donated from someone in the forums since or from a giveaway.
I know what you mean about it making your day too, it's not even about saving money or anything like that normally but just the thrill of getting something unexpected free as a gift, or winning it in a contest, even if it was worth a cup of coffee. The goodwill both of GOG and the GOG community is astounding and puts a lot of smiles on a lot of people's faces all day every day. :)
real.geizterfahr: I'm sure this won't work. After the Fallout debacle, GOG changed the way to give out free games. Just remember Dungen Keeper. You got one free copy. If you had it already, you got one free gift key. I'm sure it'll be the same with all freebies GOG will offer at any point in the future.
You might be right there, hard to say. I've got one Dungeon Keeper code in my gift box still, don't think I even tried to get another one though and I don't think they've had any freebies since then, at least none I'm aware of. They can do absolutely anything they like in their freebie promos in the future though and I'm cool with it and happy they offer anything free to us at all regardless of how exclusive or wide open the given promo might be. :)
