Pidgeot: If they don't repeat, GOG will run out of games to go in flash sales after about 3 days - so yeah, they're almost surely going to repeat.
avatar
skeletonbow: Good point, with 200 games advertised for the flash sales, at the rate they're burning through them, they probably will repeat several times between now and June 30, so I'll hopefully have multiple chances to grab Dracula 1-3 pack on the repeats. $1.99 is a steal, that's 66 cents per game! I guess in a few days we'll find out when the flash sale starts to repeat titles and gauge how many times it might cycle.
I hadn't seen that number - at 200 games in the rotation, it only takes 20 hours to get through everything, in which case there's enough time for about 20 runs through the list (assuming it keeps going at 36 minutes per batch).

So there should be *plenty* of chances to catch any games in there.

HypersomniacLive: It's probably an issue caused by a custom script, an add-on or a combination - GOG's front page is quite sensitive to those.
Well, I just started without any add-on, and it didn't help. But is not a big deal as it works the same...

Malware isn't the kind of infection you should be worried about...

DubConqueror: That's a LOT of wasted money! Can't beat that. Knowing you like games better on GOG, why didn't you wait a bit longer for GOG sales? Or did you get a lot of those in bundles?
Many of those are indeed from bundles. Also, when I got back in the hobby I went a little hog wild buying from different stores, before realising that GOG would eventually be getting many of the titles. Since I've scaled back on both bundles and other vendors, my duplicate purchases have largely stopped. So chalk all this up to experience. :)

wichogt: Hello everyone.

another sale? awesome! (OK I think I've developed a bit of a hoarding disorder, at least with digital games :P )

right now I'm looking at "overlord" looks fun, anything wrong with it I should know?

skeletonbow: The Overlord games are a console-type god game. I bought the complete collection somewhere for Steam for like $4 or less 6 months ago or so. It comes on sale like that from time to time. I've only played the first game and it was fun but I haven't finished it yet. It's worth trying out IMHO, but I don't think GOG puts the Overlord collection on sale for $4 so you might find a better deal elsewhere if you're open to non-GOG games also. It was $4.99 for the complete collection on Greenman yesterday apparently.
I don't know I'm still tempted, the pack you mention has overlord II which is the only one missing on gog I'm sure if I like it and want to play overlord II I could find it on a sale in the future.

I think I'll grab it now.

thanks for your input.
Crap, my game download drive is full! No space to download all of today's purchases! ;o) Time to consume and delete some of the various entertainment selections that are taking up all of the space and make room for some GOG games. :)

foxworks: Glad to know I'm not the only one who maintains a spreadsheet for this or for that :p Take note, Sachys! lol
avatar
budejovice: I started out keeping key data for each game on index cards. The cards were color coded by genre. It was pretty sweet. But I ran out of steam around 150 games on my shelf. Need to get a spreadsheet up and running. :)
My spreadsheet includes game, vendor, original bundle the key came from if applicable, other vendor I also own the game from, whether I have the soundtrack, any associated serial number, and the URL if it was a direct-download purchase rather than through a storefront.

The games are also coloured-coded as to whether I have played/am playing them, have finished them, have played them before but not yet in this digital format, or if they are ones I should prioritise getting to.

I know it sounds like a lot, but it only takes a few seconds to add a new game or update a status, so it's a really help for very little effort.

Yeah, good point. The GOG price is pretty good because it comes with the expansion, I didn't realize that. They don't appear to have Overlord II in the catalogue but hopefully it will show up in the future also.

No, please, don't delete your porn! Some noble parts of you might regret it some day!

Aye, if we but heed it. I do try to.

Do not worry, delete all you want - NSA should have a backup of your entire computer. ;)

This is very true - the hard part (i.e. requires effort) is getting your existing collection in there; maintaining it after that is easy (as long as you remember to actually do it, of course).

That's more or less why I decided not to use any of the pre-existing backlog sites when I decided to keep proper track of my games, and built my own - it made it infinitely easier to import all of my games, especially the digital ones from Steam and GOG.

As someone who loves playing the villain, Overlord is exceptionally fun, and at times rather hilarious. You control a horde of minions who do your every bidding, and this is probably the one sticking point. The control for minions can be rather difficult to grasp, and may take a bit of trial and error. Sometimes, despite how you move your mouse your horde seems content on say... drowning to death. Still, I had a lot of fun with it. You can choose how evil you wish to be (slight RPG choices, does make a difference on appearance and on the epilogue), you can decorate your evil tower, and in general cut a bloody swath against any who stand in your way. Plus the expansion is also good (I did find the expansion more of a challenge than the main campaign, but still completely doable).

I'm running low on music, photos, TV, & movies because of this cursed site. :)
