hi, new user here (found out about GOG and registered yesterday) ... probably not the correct thread but still i will ask ... is there a chance to buy bundles that have been there recently? Namely "wing commander" bundle - noticed it was presented here day before yesterday so i missed it by 1 day - bad luck i guess, huh?
thanks

bernstein82: Yeah that sucks big time. Especially that Ubisoft didn't issue you a new key. Well got the same result with Blizzard.
Happened to me with StarCraft, albeit a few years down the road. One day i just couldn't login to battle.net because they revoked my key because other people (presumably with keygens) used the same key...
Yep, I was extremely furious and it still gets me a bit worked up thinking about it. I was a HUGE fan of all the Tom Clancy games and even bought every single one of them that I had originally even had copies of before that which someone passed along. I bought multiple copies of some of them even. As much as they visually interest me as they come out, I have not played a single game after Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 from the Clancy offerings, or any Ubisoft title I can think of for that matter. I own some on Uplay but they're all freebies or won as gifts or that came with hardware for free (like Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon).

I never had that happen with Blizzard, but only because of Ubisoft and EA making me cautious. I bought Warcraft III and that was my last Blizzard game so they never ripped me off, but I never bought their future games that might have made me feel ripped off either. ;o) Love Blizzard's games but I haven't played any of them since Warcraft III and have no real desire to for the most part. I have much better feelings about Blizzard than the others though, but just can't see myself buying anything from them in the future unless it is DRM-free on GOG.com which seems extremely unlikely times a million. :)

Good chance that all of the bundles will come back for one last time on the last full day of the sale, June 29. :)

We can't say with absolute certainty, but we've got high reason to believe that GOG might do an encore sale on June 29th where all of the previous bundles offered day by day all make a final one day showing, similar to the sale that occurred on June 18th. They do encores like this very often for big promos like this so it seems likely they will this time but we wont know for sure until the 29th. It's a good idea to wait it out either way though as the sale price you'd pay now instead of waiting would be the same all the way until June 30th anyways so it's worth waiting if you can hold out.

If not though, they will come on sale again in the future as a bundle in 3/6/9 months etc. though.

synfresh: I don't get the 'enjoy it quickly or it's gone argument' because again it assumes something that may or may not happen. It's no more an absolute that you will lose your access to Steam games then it is that you won't. Games that I own on Steam that I bought circa 2005 still exist in my library. I certainly didn't make sure I 'enjoyed them quickly' or was worried in any way that whey were going away (which they have not).

Gnostic: I bought Magic the Gathering Tactics from steam and I received this message, and my $100 on that goes poof

I bought Unreal Tournament 3 Black Edition that requires me to sign up for another account because it only allow me to save my games ONLINE. Some time later I forgot the password and cannot save my game at all and the game spy does not support the save server anymore thus I cannot reset my password. (I goes through many tries before I guess the correct password later)

If I ever want to beat the system and "Unofficially" save the game offline I have to follow some complicated steps

Other games I realize is dark spore

Other community may feed you about other proof of games gone from steam due to online DRM
So you came up with 2 examples out of how many titles that Steam sells, both of which have nothing to do with Steam by the way, but the publisher (the same way games get pulled on GoG I might add). Besides, we're not talking about one off titles here and there, which happen no matter what digital distributor that you use. We're talking about losing ones entire library forever because Steam decides to just turn off the switch. I haven't seen any evidence of that happening, sorry.

Yes, it may one day happen in the future, but nobody knows what the contingency plan will be for that. Do you really believe developers and publishers would spend millions of dollars banking on the Steam infrastructure if it was just going to magically disappear in the forseeable future?
