HypersomniacLive: Or Classic Shell™? I use it even on Win 7. ;-)

Though if rumours are to be believed, one may not need any such app come August.

IAmSinistar: That Start Menu looks nice, very much like the original. I'm just using Pokki because it came preinstalled (though I accidentally deleted it and had to reinstall it).

So is there a rumour floating that M$ is putting the button back themselves? Gotta love them, they have all the brains and turning radius of an oil tanker. :P
I bought a little app called Start8 from a firm called Stardock. Not only can you customise the menu button, you can default boot onto the desktop. Now I never see the 'metro' screen unless I choose to. They also do this neat little app called Fences that allows you to group icons on your desktop and also allows multiple desktops. Both have free demo versions available if you fancy trying them out.

IAmSinistar: That's actually a very good choice. It's addictive as heck, and has that "play through until you die and try to do better next time" dynamic that keeps you coming back. It shares that with FTL.

madeaj: Yep, that's the feature that made me want it. You should have seen me. Trying to resist the impulse. Telling myself I already had too many games. Got up and drank two glasses of water, walked around the house (outside and inside). I was like an alcoholic trying not to give in to the bottle of Jack on the counter.

Came back to the computer sure that the sale on that game would be over so I could tell myself it was too expensive (relatively) for an impulse buy. But noooo, there it was, still on sale, calling my name. GOG needs to bottle their subliminal messages or something. lol

Hello, My name is Madeaj and I am a gameholic.
I did exactly the same over the weekend with Papers, Please. Haven't installed it yet though as I've been busy running Geralt around Vizima.

Neverfree: Would like to get Sanitarium as my last game, but I haven't seen it for awhile now :(
I can only speak for Sword of the Stars. But I enjoyed it a lot when I played it. Come to think it it, I need to boot it up again. If you like roguelikes , you'll definitely get your worth out of it.

lostwolfe: sanitarium is a very underrated adventure game that i'd completely recommend.
it's atmosphere is somewhat weird though. if you're into that, you may like it a bunch.
while i didn't like everything about it [that atmosphere could be downright creepy in places] - one of the things i /did/ like was that it explored the protagonist's past pretty well and gave you a /very/ good reason as to why you had a breakdown. there's not very many computer games brave enough to do that.
[and when you find out what caused your character's break from reality it is /entirely/ a downer moment, but so well done.]
I loved Sanitarium. There was one point (the end of Mansion segment between the Circus Of Fools level and The Laboratory) that brought tears to my eyes - something only one other game has ever done (Ether One). It's definitely a creepy, atmospheric game.

Nice to know I'm not the only one. :-) I was beginning to think I was getting soft considering that Ether One was the next game I played after Sanitarium. Mind you, the subject matter of Ether One isvery emotive (dementia) and they *do* deal with it very well.

Stilton: Who's waiting for what?
The only game that is that I would like is The Last Federation.
If Banished or Omerta do a last dash on the final day or something I may pick them up.

But my wallet is telling me no :(

I know the feeling. I keep telling myself, resist...RESIST! But then a little voice pipes up and says, Naaah, and I know its futile.

Mine is begging for mercy and I keep saying "Suck it up, Buttercup! Just one more gift code." So far, it's managing to limp along on life support.

Mine too!!

Wait... WHAT!!

Starting to think I need to administer some CPR after taking another look at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate to ask, because I'm sure it's been covered in these 128 pages somewhere...

If something's been on a flash sale, does that mean that's it for this sale, or is there a chance it'll go down again? Talking specifically about The Witcher 2, which I missed at $3.99, apparently.

3.99 is the lowest it will be, but it will also more than likely pop up again
Sanitarium.... why must you be so cruel. :,(

We can fight, but the games will win. It's what they are bred for.

I guess I shouldn't mention that Don't Starve also has DLC here. :3
