raz3rITA: I have a question, has Commandos 2+3 been in sale? Beside the bundle pack I mean.
Aside from the getting them in the "Commandos and Desperados" bundle, Commandos 2+3 is 50% off through the end of the summer sale. The bundle, along with all the others, will probably be back on the 29th. Otherwise, the 50% off discount is there.

Will probably end at Midnight of 29th, not sure of time zone

Neverfree: Anyone know what time on the 30th this sale ends? Apparently I have to wait until Monday to receive my check instead of Friday, with Monday being the last day and all -.- Any idea?

Just a guess, but it will probably be the same time that the daily deals switch over. For me, that's 09:00 EDT.

From the newsletter:
The 2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale ends on June 30 at 12:59 GMT.
Thanks guys! Fingers crossed it clears before then :P If not... I shall make my wallet beg for forgiveness come this fall! MAwahahahaha
Who's waiting for what?

I've got these crying out to join my collection:

Anodyne
Evoland
Lone Survivor
Sword of the Stars: The Pit

If anyone's tried them and thinks they're pants please let me know - I'd rather conserve funds than buy any duds.

Other than that I think I'm done. I didn't intend to get all game happy again so soon, but a GOG sale has a way of making a person happily lose their marbles for a little while.

Would like to get Sanitarium as my last game, but I haven't seen it for awhile now :(
I can only speak for Sword of the Stars. But I enjoyed it a lot when I played it. Come to think it it, I need to boot it up again. If you like roguelikes , you'll definitely get your worth out of it.

Stilton: Who's waiting for what?
I'm quite happy for my collection to grow at a pretty glacial pace and right now I don't have anything definitively top priority on my wishlist, I'm looking at adding a little variety to my collection and made a short list of:

Long Live the Queen
Patrician 3
Port Royale
SteamWorld Dig

I can't decide between Patrician 3 and Port Royale, which aren't in the flash deals anyway. SteamWorld Dig I just deliberately passed on despite looking at several times while it was up, I have a couple of platform games already so figured it can wait until another sale. Long Live the Queen looks really interesting and the most likely of the flash deals for me. Still looking though, I have a few more games to research before making a final decision and I'm sure there will be more repeats of the ones I passed on so far.

Does anyone know if the original Rise Of The Triad has been put on one of the larger discount sales yet? I keep seeing the remake over and over, but never the original.

If you mean in the Summer Sale, then no, it has not been on a flash sale or bundle and it's not expected to. Just the 50% discount it currently has.

Well, that's a bummer. You'd think with the remake being pushed so regularly, the original one would be as well. God knows I'd love to see it at $1.99, or even $1.49 like I believe I've seen with Duke Nukem 3D.

Regarding the sale itself...

I don't mean for this to sound pissy and ungrateful, but with so many games now on GOG, do we really need to have the same handful in constant rotation for the flash sales? It's great they're being put on sale and all, but it seems a little ridiculous to see the same games come up day after day; like the system's stuck on "Repeat" instead of "Shuffle."

sanitarium is a very underrated adventure game that i'd completely recommend.
it's atmosphere is somewhat weird though. if you're into that, you may like it a bunch.
while i didn't like everything about it [that atmosphere could be downright creepy in places] - one of the things i /did/ like was that it explored the protagonist's past pretty well and gave you a /very/ good reason as to why you had a breakdown. there's not very many computer games brave enough to do that.
[and when you find out what caused your character's break from reality it is /entirely/ a downer moment, but so well done.]

it's nice though to have a relaxed sale where everybody gets plenty of opportunity to find the deals they want. Insomnia type sales are fun but it's good to have the variety of sale format

Lol yeah, I sorta feel the same way. It's great we get a sale, but I was expecting a little more variety. We've seen various games MANY more times than others.

Greatly looking forward to trying it out, something a little.... different ;)

LynetteC: It appears that GOG are now trying to feed my addiction by telling me I can complete the Risen bundle for $5.99! I think I need to stop looking at the home page before l run out of wages!

justanoldgamer: I now have a bookmark that leads me right to the forum so I don't get tempted.
+1 for that. :-) Sometimes the simplest (and most obvious) solutions are the most effective.

skeletonbow: Naw, what you need is a browser plugin that lets you split the render area into 2 panes and have the GOG homepage on the left and the forums on the right. Then you're stylin! ;o)
You don't even need a plugin, just separate windows - and therein lies my problem!
