If you want to pleasantly while away some time while waiting for your next want to come along (aside from being on the forum, that is) and you like quirky puzzlers, you could do a lot worse than giving 'Tales From Space - Mutant Blobs Attack!!!' a go. Its quick, nice to look at, has a pleasing B Movie feel and at the moment is making me grin quite a bit. There's a touch of World of Goo in there and a dash of I-Fluid, and overall its a nice light way of getting your game fix without the need to lock horns and get immersed. The last few days all I seem to have been doing is scanning GOG's front page and working out what I want/can afford/like the look of. This was one of those, and boy, its nice to relax and play a game for a change ;-)
It seems XIII used to be on GOG but was removed early 2013 (before I joined in the summer)

Means I have no way of getting that online, will look around but not hopeful of finding it

Alekce: That... is pure genius. O.O Maybe with that there will be some money in my wallet at the end of this sale.

-immediately makes a bookmark that leads directly to forums-

Thank you for that idea! :D
No problem. I'm at 499 games on GOG and I do not want to just buy anything just to make it 500. There is still one game I want in the flash rotation but it is relatively new here and above the $6 limit I set for myself so I figure it will go down in price eventually. And it's not as if I've got nothing to play in the mean time.

It's possible 500 will be won in a giveaway, so I'm careful that any giveaway I enter for GOG games are for game I really want. Not that I have a habit of entering giveaway for games I don't want.

It might also be a freebie if there are any more, in that case it might not be that special but I won't refuse a freebie unless it's really something I have no intention of even trying.

Naw, what you need is a browser plugin that lets you split the render area into 2 panes and have the GOG homepage on the left and the forums on the right. Then you're stylin! ;o)

Another great puzzle game to while away the time but turn based is Drod. The mechanic is completely different but it somehow reminds me of the classic Sokoban.

It's possible someone might have bought it as a gift key and is holding onto it for a future giveaway or something. I grabbed it myself just before it left the catalogue even though it wasn't on my wishlist just to try it out since it was spoken so highly of. It was quite different than anything else I've played in the world of FPS shooters, very interesting on the art side of things. The only downside was it was not able to use high resolutions. I forget but I think it maxed out at 1024x768 or 1600x1200 or something low like that. It was still decent though. I meant to search the net to see if anyone had tricks for making it handle high res like 2560x1600 but never got around to it. If you manage to scrape a code from a giveaway or trade or whatnot it is a refreshingly different FPS artistically for sure.

It seems you sir do not know the concept of windows. Wait for it... Be amazed... there is no need for a such a plugin, windows natively comes with windows ;)

Honestly, your best bet is for a retail version, like this.

Except for Windows 8. You really need to install Pokki to have Windows on there. ;)

skeletonbow: And for flight sim enthusiasts (and racing and FPS enthusiasts as well), there is another device that is awesome to have too but it only works with a much more limited range of games - the NaturalPoint TrackIR head tracker:
Don't know about the price but you might just want to wait for the consumer version of the Oculus... :)

Or Classic Shell™? I use it even on Win 7. ;-)

Though if rumours are to be believed, one may not need any such app come August.

That Start Menu looks nice, very much like the original. I'm just using Pokki because it came preinstalled (though I accidentally deleted it and had to reinstall it).

So is there a rumour floating that M$ is putting the button back themselves? Gotta love them, they have all the brains and turning radius of an oil tanker. :P
The amount of repeats... wow. Lol. I'm about to punch Lilly in all four eyes
