RWarehall: 3 times - 89 games
4 times - 112 games
5 times - 19 games
6 times - 1 game
Swapper, The

It is looking pretty darn random.
There's definitely a non-random component to it, though. For instance:

After the first 348 flash offers, there were equal numbers of games set for in their 2nd appearance and for their 3rd round, namely 111 games each. (I'll ignore those few that were already into round 4.) With a totally random selection we'd expect to see roughly equal numbers of both groups in the next handful of games. Instead, the next 50 selections saw 36 2nd-rounders and only 14 3rd-rounders.

The same thing one round later - from the point at which 3rd and 4th round were equal, the next 50 included 33 3rd-rounders and just 14 4th-rounders (plus a few late 2nd's).

In other words, if it was totally random we'd see an even more drawn-out distribution right now, with a bunch more 6-timers and probably already some 7-timers.

RWarehall: The big Magrunner: Dark Pulse giveaway has ended, but we're not even half-way through the Summer Sale excitement! Keep an eye out for more giveaways (they won't be as long, so you'll need to be quick!) and gaming knowledge contests coming your way soon.

Maybe Flash giveaways? Maybe inserted in the rotation? Maybe the images we have not seen yet? There might be hope...
Poke your snitch - we need to know more! :P

Edit: I wasn't aware that you were merely quoting GOG's 'Day 7' announcement.

Curiously is Witcher 3 really the highest selling game on GOG right now... or did GOG just stage the sale list to promote Witcher 3 at the top regardless of purchases?
Unfortunately JMich isn't a snitch, just extremely knowledgeable and crafty. He calls most of the enigmatic hints right off. He discovered a pattern in the image names. Unfortunately, no inside information. Pure speculation, but it's probably more fun this way.

txnca: That is a possibility, or maybe the deals were for only so many copies at the very reduced pricing so they won't come up until the last few days.

[...]
I think you may well have a point there, didn't think of such a case, though I should have after the Deadly Premonition mess during the Spring Insomnia Promo. ;-)

txnca: [...]

Again on another note, figured out why Sacred 3 is so screwed up. It is being put out first on consoles so it will be a console port for PC. The other two were PC first which is where the open world works. It is also being sold on Steam, therefore the scoring crap! Seriously WHO CARES!!! The only scoring I want is to finish the game with ALL the loot! Not some arcade rpg scoring crap! Sheesh! Is this REALLY what people want in games now?!

Rant finished...I think! ;-)
Apparently all those who can't enjoy a game without it padding them on the back at every single step they take. I remember when playing and ending a game was the reward in itself, but times change and it seems to not be enough anymore. To each their own, I guess.

And if you consider this as ranting, you must have not heard people really rant. ;-P

How would any of us be privy to know such information? :)
Would anyone who is in a position to know conclusively be in a position to share that information publicly? :)

Mmmm... Witcher 3! Mmmmm!

Witcher 3: The Long Wait :)
Am I a closet accountant or do others keep a list of the games they have bought as the sale progresses, including the amount paid, the original price (for comparison), the total outlay and the percentage saved that this equates to?

I've got a very satisfying document growing on my desktop here, one that is becoming increasingly useful in preventing me from breaking the bank as it makes me consider which games I really want. I'm sure that in the long run its saving me money.

A definite talisman against my usual GOGular spending madness...

just after the sale went live, right about as the games were being datamined, i looked through the list and made an excel spreadsheet with the handful of things i wanted.

then i ranked those in order of preference and put the amounts next to them.

if it wasn't a bundle [like the d+d masterset] and it went into $3+, i considered it "too much money." [dependent on what it was, of course.]

that particular spreadsheet has seen to it that i don't spend /too/ much, apart from yesterday, where i picked up the handful of daily deals i was interested in.

I've both wished I did that from the start, and want to start doing that but it's a lot of work to go back through old emails and other sources that hold the information to do it all, and probably things are missing for some games too. Maybe one of these days. Need to write a database for it first though :)

Here I was thinking you folk were fans of speculation with your image pattern searching and what-not.

I have children who are under 15 so I have learned to control my rants. I guess I should have really let go, but hey, it is hard to break a habit!

Ok, I can't lie... I think there is a chance it could possible be a definite maybe. :)
