TwoHandedSword: Quick question: Has anyone noticed whether Gothic, 1849 or Star Control 3 have gone on a flash sale at any point this week? I'd like to know whether it's worth it to stay up all night to keep checking, or just buy them at 50% off already and get myself a good night's sleep.
Gothic isn't part of the flash sales at all. You can get Gothic 2 and 3 in a bundle though. 1849 hasn't appeared in a flash sale at all, and Star Control 3 isn't part of the flash sale either. That is as far as we know they aren't Here is a list of the games that have gone up for flash sales.

Here.

txnca: Let drop you hit 300 on the first day?! I missed that it seems. So, If you have been buying a few a day and today bought a couple of bundles or so, then somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 would be my guess. ;-D

budejovice: 300 total GOG shelf milestone hit on first day. You're not too far off for current. (H-H-H-HIGHER!)

:)
Not too far off...then 360. Or if (H-H-H-HIGHER) is a hint then 380. ;-)

I can only confirm that it is somewhere between 350 & 757...

I can also confirm that I *will* have both a place to sleep and food to eat next month, so it's all good. At the end I'll just total up the amount that I "saved". :)
Hey LynetteC, have you ever played Sacred 2 with or without the expansion pack Ice and Blood? It's a much bigger game and it is very good as well. I hear they are working on Sacred 3 although I am not sure it will ever come out and be like the previous two.

Thanks for the quick reply. I already had the Gothic bundle, which is why I was hoping to grab the original as well. I'm not really surprised about 1849 since it's still kind of new, but kind of surprised that Star Control 3 hadn't made the cut.

Still, I've already picked up over 20 games so far, so I really can't complain.

Most likely you have saved hundreds! If 757 is the high end of your list then you really have been on a buying spree! ;-)

Nah, it's not that bad. :)

Actually, in May I moved to a new, smaller apartment. The amount I am saving every month is more than the amount I have spent in this sale, so I seem to actually have come out ahead this month. Whew!

You can't beat that then! Always nice to save no matter how you do it!

Looks like Blackguards is finally about to come up again while I am actually here! That is one down, now all I need is Banished.

Not a bad haul at all. I think Star Control 3 is only like $2.99, if that. It won't tell me as I bought it when I first joined way back when.

IAmSinistar: Sweet, the last two of my "maybe" Flash buys just came up (Chronicles of Riddick and Moebius). Got them, now my Summer Sale wishlist shopping it truly complete. :)
avatar
stg83: Congratulations IAmSinistar, you're so used to the Insomnia promo format that it took you nearly the same amount of time it usually takes for the insomnia madness to last to complete your wishlist shopping. ;)
It's funny, that. You'd think this would go quicker, since the games come around quicker, and yet it doesn't. Though a factor may be that I keep talking myself into further games. :)

avatar
foxworks: Congrats! I just logged into PayPal. I think that just concluded my shopping extravaganza! hehehehe
Never do that until it's all over. Then it's too late. :D

Niggles: Out of curiosity, are people buying up bundles now or waiting til later? (And buying up stuff to complete bundled of games already have).so tempting right now:).
If one has the money already there's no real great reason to wait because today as far as the bundles and flash sales go is the all-in-one everything day where everything that will be on sale, is on sale in one day for one-stop shopping. There wont be any new games in the flash sales that weren't already, nor bundles that aren't present today (that was figured out days ago). There is still a contest coming up and possibly more freebies but as far as what bundles are being offered and flash games, they're all there today in one place. If someone doesn't have the money to grab everything they want today then they can play it day by day chance from now until the 29th and try to make the best of it though. But if someone waits hoping a new bundle will show up between now and the 30th or a new game in the flash sale, they're probably going to be very disappointed as it's going to be repeats from here on out. The only unaccounted for variables are the 7 data-mined game cards from the flash sale that have never turned up in the flash sale which include Banished and Omerta, but they're not in any bundles so it's ok to wait it out for them anyway (and recommended). Chances are GOG will repeat today's blowout sale on the 29th or even the 30th though if they follow their past history which they're doing so far at least.

Today is probably the best day of the whole sale though for getting it all done in one shot for those who have the cash. :)

Cyberevil: Hmmm I'm not sure there is anything left I feel I must buy at this point... There's a few I'm curious about, like Tropico 3, but I really hate it when the trailer has no actual game play in it. It tends to make me real suspicious.
That drives me nuts too, watching a game trailer and all it is is cut scenes/storyline stuff with no actual gameplay, or even just the game's wallpaper with credits and text to read, and artwork scrolling by with sound effects, possibly intermixed with some hoaky narration trying to hype it up but... zero actual gameplay. Most of the trailers are 30% splashcreen advertising of the game publisher, developer, AMD/Intel, AMD/nVidia, physics engine, other technologies linked into the game binary, and after a minute and a half of that crap then you get a game trailer that lasts for 30 seconds that doesn't show you the actual game. GRRRR :) I go to youtube and type the game name and add "gameplay" on the end and watch fan made videos that show nothing BUT the game. :)
Well, I am calling it a night. Hopefully Banished doesn't show up tonight! Yall have a good one. Good Night!

Have you ever played any of the tropico games? If not its really good if your into builders plus you can enact edicts like wiretapping or literacy program but anything you put in law has an impact on any of the many factions that inhabit the island. Also each structure has its own settings like the lumber mill you can clear cut but that impacts the environment and the environmentalists wont be too happy about that plus health risks or selective cutting but that's less lumber which in turn means less profit or furniture being built. Downside....... Music after an hour I go crazy:D

Awwww I don't know about you guys but Im just waiting for midnight when my direct deposit kicks in=) Btw is anyone going to Comic Con in New York this year?
