blotunga: Gothic is again not included... At least I think I'll get the Gothic 2&3... The Settlers bundle has the Heritage of Kings, which I also not really want... still the price is ok.
Heh, I bought Heritage of the Kings The Settlers years ago because the graphics on the box and writeup/feel of the game packaging info made me believe it'd be up my alley. At the time I was looking for some kind of games that were some kind of medieval real time strategy castle building war games of sorts and looking at all games that visually might be that type of thing. It was one game that gave me that impression, and while it wasn't quite what I had in mind that I wanted at the time (I never did find a game that was exactly what I was looking for), it blew me away as an awesome RTS game with a rich tech tree, lots of harvestable resources (6), tonnes of buildings and upgrades out the wazoo. I just love that sort of thing plus the season changes and weather machine and all sorts of other things. I had a blast with it and thought perhaps I'd like to try some of the other Settlers games some day too.

In the GOG forums though I've read on quite a few occasions people talking about the series and praising many of the games as their personal favourites but more often than not people seem to really dislike Heritage of the Kings or consider it the worst game in the series. That surprised me because I think the game is awesome personally independent of the other games (which I never played), however I've been actually thrilled to hear people disenfranchised with that game because I think... "Hey, if the think it is the worst game in the series and I think the game is fantastic, maybe all the other games in the series are even more awesome!" and that has made me very curious to get them all ever since. :) The opportunity to get them for $keletonCheap0 pricing has not availed itself over time though until today... :)

So... now I'm contemplating... I own Heritage already, but on DVD not GOG, so I have to buy it again to get the full discount on the other games. So that'll be $12.50ish for the set... Hrm... decisions decisions.... I dunno... This one could go either way for me. I know for sure I'll get them at some point likely but ... go out on a whim now, or wait for a future deal that's even better? Hrm.. :)

I've got a crapload of bundles in my cart for hours waiting to make this decision up before I finalize and seal the deal. If anyone has thoughts to help me make my mind up, please fire away! :)

Gnostic: given the fact that GOG only have 750+ games, It will be difficult to do so as I may run out of games you are even mildly interested in.

................
Checks wishlist............ What, how come my wishlist is still so huge? Given the statistic it should be less than 50, not still 100+
Hey... wait a minute! Are you saying... Hrm... Are you saying that we're supposed to actually be interested in games we buy?

Shit!

txnca: Really!? I am surprised! It has done it to me on the front page several times as well as in the forums and also when trying to look at my wishlist and owned games. It doesn't bother me since I realize that they are getting hammered with people buying, which is great for them and by extension us as well! It was really bad this morning for me. I guess because everyone was picking up the bundles like I was doing! ;-)
More likely picking up the freebie, which - guaranteed! - brought several new accounts too.

The only difference I experience is the images of the bottom flash deals taking a bit longer to load when I refresh the page, other than this it's been business as usual for me. :-)

Andanzas: Does anybody know when Expeditions: Conquistador is likely to appear again? Or is it completely random?

KunoNoOni: It will be available in the next 30 minutes. Right now it is Coming Soon.
I saw it just when the timer was running out, but I managed to pick it up. Thanks a lot.

I haven't had any problems since I got back home. I had a few problems on the phone though while I was out, which was only for about two hours. Also had problems this morning. Looks like it has calmed down quite a bit from earlier but I bet they are still getting hammered.

Lemon_Curry: I don't recall ever having seen The Settlers games discounted on the site until now. Are they rarely on sale?
Correct. I surfed through past GOG promotional mails and the Settlers games usually go on sale for 50% off max and only a couple of times that I could find. Most of the other mailings that mentioned them were the Release announcements for each game. This appears to be the absolute cheapest any of them have shown up at least since Dec 2012 which covers the whole time they've been here it appears. That's why I'm a little undecided ... best price yet but um... hrm... hrm... argh... hrm... :)

I hear you! I want two more games and I think it will be enough. Banished and Black Guards SE. I know Black Guards has been in the flash sales, but have not seen Banished yet. Keeping my fingers crossed for that one!
Sweet, the last two of my "maybe" Flash buys just came up (Chronicles of Riddick and Moebius). Got them, now my Summer Sale wishlist shopping it truly complete. :)

evilnancyreagan: SOLD

Pulled the trigger already but, I will still take a peek at those vids :)

Thanks for sharing your impressions

+1 for you!
My pleasure. I think you'll be pleased. And I'd also recommend Cave Story too for Metroidvanias. It's a little Japanese cutesy, but a quality game (the soundtrack I'm not too fond of though, but the rest is quite good) :
