Does anyone know the algorithm for how flash sales are chosen? I have spent the entire day checking this sale, but Stacking and Jade Empire still haven't shown up. I have been going crazy since they have only shown up when I wasn't here, so I just want to know when they will show up, to have some peace at mind.

It was 60% discount when bought alone.

Yeah it was 60% unless you bought the bundle then it was 80% off. The cool part was if you own any part of the bundle it does not include that game in the price but you still get the 80% off, so if NWN 2 was the only game didn't have in the bundle you could get it for 80% off. That's the reason I suggested waiting on the bundle again :)

As I suspected. I was tempted to buy the entire package but I wasn't sure I wanted all the other games. I might reconsider on the 18th or 29th.

They appear to be in completely random order chosen from the pool of all games available to the flash sales (around 200 or so). Other than that we don't really know much. It appears that some games come up more than others but that could simply be within the randomness also and we'd never know. In past promos like the Insomnia sales such random picks seemed to iterate through the entire list of all total games with each game coming up within a "round" before the next round started which went through each game exactly once also. WIth this sale it seems more random than that, like each game is chosen totally at random whether or not all games have appeared once or not. There have even been a few games show up as a new flash sale item coming into the sale while the same game is already in the flash sale which supports this theory. :)

Another possibility is that some of the games are scheduled to only show up on certain days in the flash sale but not on others, or that some games are scheduled to show up 10 times and others 15 or 20 times. There is no real way to figure that out though without a lot of observation and statistical analysis over a long period of time. Plus they can change it up at any point or tweak the algorithm also.

Only GOG knows the exact algorithm although it appears pseudorandom with oddities so far. :)

Just added that movie to my Netflix queue. Never heard of it, but what I read of the synopsis makes it sound cool! Thanks for enlightening us to its existence.

That sounds about right. I've been watching the deals pretty closely, and I remember seeing that game, but not in the past day.

Last I heard, most of the flash deals are going on their third rotation now, so I would guess that it could show up any time now.

I think I saw it on flash sale one time, but it was in the first day.

I know I saw Love for Sail and Reloaded, you might be thinking of those ones.

I pulled the trigger and bought Tesla Effect earlier so I have all the flash deals that I was waiting for that have been seen so far (unless Banished and Outlast Whistleblower appear).

I didn't buy it when I saw it a couple days ago because of the higher price/lower discount and the end of the month approaching but I did my calculations and I'm good budget-wise for this month.

I guess I'll bike to work for a few days to shift some money from my train budget to my games budget to pick a few daily deals so GOG's sale is also good for my health :).

I have no idea what games are going to be in the upcoming daily deals but looking at the strategy type in GOG's game list, at Indie Platformers in MagGog's search and searching game names in GOG's search box, here is what games I hope to see appear in the daily deals and their current price:

Tactical:
UFO Afterlight $5
Combat Mission - Beyond Overlord $5
Strategic Command - European Theater $5
Desperados 2 $5
Great Battles $3
Dark Reign 2 $3
(it's unlikely that all those will be in today's tactical bundle but I can hope for a couple)

Gothic 3 $5 (apparently it's bad but if it's 80% off it's cheap enough to fill the hole in my Gothic collection)

At ~$10 saved per day of biking and given that not all those games will appear (especially in the tactical bundle) and that they will be cheaper than listed here it should take me 5-6 days of riding, so about 10-12 hours of exercise thanks to GOG :)
