jackster79: *Stares at the wall of games in shock and awe*

I humbly bow to you sir!

Any particular one you will be playing first (assuming the sale ended right now)?
Oh, I will be starting with the D&D titles. I also have several games already on the go, some of which seem to be permanent additions to my hard drive! ;-)
Hi,

Can someone tell me when this sale ends?

I thought I saw a post that said it lasts two weeks instead of the normal one weekend. If it is two weeks, is that just on the weekend for two weeks?

IAmSinistar: Good idea, I'll add one.

Just hopped on for a second as I woke up early and decided to check things. Noticed the increase in games, plus finally the chance for me to grab Jazzpunk. Hurrah! Now back to bed. :)
No fair! I can't go back to bed! Why are you allowed to?!

Conrad57: Anyway, here's the [Edit: rhetorical] question. Wouldn't it support GOG more to pay full price instead of waiting for flash sales? Obviously it would. And I understand that we all want something as cheaply as possible. I'm not attacking anyone here. Still, when it comes to supporting GOG, I appreciate (personally) that they've stayed in business long enough for me to find my oldie favorites (Myst and a few others). So, whether we support with a little (flash sale) or a lot (full price), thanks! I couldn't have my games for my kids to experience without it. Well, unless I put together a Core2 Duo XP machine with a slightly older video card, that is. :) Long live The Curse of Monkey Island

astropup: You might want to take a look here: http://worldacademyonline.com/article/23/100/discount_and_allowances.html. It lists different types of discounts and a logic behind them. A basic economics. But it's not unordinary for someone with the different background to not be familiar with it.
My background is in economics. My first calculus class (in high school) used this type of thing as an example of application for setting the schedules so not to hurt profits while still giving something worthwhile to the customer. We didn't calculate the whole thing out as HS students, but the point is that I've been aware of this since long before my background was in business and economics. So, I'm actually already aware of the concepts on the page you linked. Thanks, though. And, speaking of wrong assumptions, you made one. If you re-read CAREFULLY, you'll see that I credit all sales, discounted or not, as supporting GOG and then make my point that I appreciated it because I benefited from it. Just follow the train of thought. Oddly, you didn't quote the part where I ask if anyone could point me to GOG's SPECIFIC business modeling, which we all know is most likely private information. I asked just on a chance.

Thanks for the snobbish wrong assumption. Perhaps I should express my appreciation for people supporting GOG at prices large or small.
OK so are they on repeat now? i missed the chance for Shadowrun and that was one i was hoping for... looks like its 2-3 days out now for the repeat i think...
Updated again.

As to predicting what comes next, its anyone's guess. Still games with only 1 appearance, but also games with 3. No games with 4 yet, so for now, I'd rule the 3's out for the near future. Shadowrun Returns only has 2, so really could show up again at any time.

i was about to make a SS thank you, i'll keep an eye, every 2 hours and when i sleep im going to cry.... im going to (fingers crossed) hope they do a recap of the popular ones after the sale... Wiz8 was one i saw first and missed, just nabbed it today :)
the format has changed a bit from the weekend, so are the flash sales still cycling though repeats? I don't see a repeat for Pathologic yet http://birdiesoft.dk/summersale.php but presumably it is still coming at some point?

Thanks to you too, mate. I'm glad I snagged it, though I notice that it's still up so I could have gotten it even at my usual wake-up time. It's okay though, I'm glad I got it either way. Picked up another copy for a fellow GOGnard who was waiting for it too.

Conrad57: I've seen mention of supporting GOG by buying on the flash deals, etc., on this thread. I agree that buying anything at all supports the seller. *snip*
Anyway, here's the [Edit: rhetorical] question. Wouldn't it support GOG more to pay full price instead of waiting for flash sales? *snip*
I just wanted to offer insight on this specific item. While I can't speak for all who've mentioned the idea of supporting GOG by buying on the flash, I can offer my own. As a buyer across multiple platforms, like Steam, some of GOG flash sale items have already been purchased elsewhere. In this instance, buying a second copy at a reduced priced, allows me to transition some of my games to a DRM-Free environment - without the sting of buying two copies at full price. (EDIT, and sometimes moving from one DRM-Free platform to another, just to give GOG their business)I think there are others that also share this idea. ;-)
