It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

zeroxxx: I've tried to CTRL+F first page to check, and found no Banished there.

Has it ever been on sale? I want to make sure. I need a few copies.

Tooms: Nope.
Thanks.

What's the criterion for certain games not to be included in the sale? There are a few on my wishlist that aren't, not even just the basic 50% off.

Conrad57: So how much does DeveloperX get from GOG sales and under what terms (per+% or just %)? We may never know.
That is true indeed. Although if you are really interested in knowing how much indie devs make from selling their items through platforms like gog/steam you can take a look at this article when you have time. Specially the mid section is interesting. Some say that steam works with a 70% - 30% revenue sharing. They take +- 30% of what you make on steam. I don't know how much gog takes form devs but in general I think that distribution networks don't lose a lot since they didn't paid for the development, publishing right etc.

That said, sorry for whining, but GOG is really a jerk when it comes to downloading. Haven't been able to download Banished patch due to an error message everytime I download. I contacted Support and they said to use GOG Downloader... great... it's not allowed to install any software here. Jeez. Thanks for nothing, I guess.
Banished is 50% off, atm. No flash sale that I've seen, though.

I work in a really restricted environment. What's the error message you get? PM me if you need to get it tomorrow, etc.

This one? Be aware that that thread has a lot of FUD going on, as well as hating.

I think it was another post that was also itself referring to other posts in the forums...

Oh well, I haven't read the lists yet. I'll check them tomorrow. Maybe my wishlist items aren't coming up :)
Time for bed!

403 error in my browser when I try to download anything from my GOG library.

Here's Support's reply when I complained to them about it.

---
Please use the GOG Downloader to download your games. This application uses different means of authentication than browser links, and using it is practically guaranteed to fix this issue.

Our browser download links are IP-based, to accommodate browser download resuming. This works under normal circumstances, but, unfortunately, we have learned that if a user's connection assigns a different IP when connecting to our site, and then a different IP when the actual download is initiated with our file hosting provider, an IP mismatch occurs, resulting in the 403 error. We are currently unable to resolve this issue, whilst preserving our users' ability to resume browser downloads.

It may be possible for your network administrator to modify your network setup so that you are issued the same IPs for both GOG.com, and our file hosting provider's servers, which you eventually get redirected to. Unfortunately I cannot guarantee if this will work, nor if the network administrator would agree to making such a change.
---

Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the workaround and I'm sure it will work if I use downloader. That's it, if I can use the downloader from this environment...

Hrmm.. Unless you're not allowed to download such things at WORK, ahem, cough, then I'm sure you could ask the network admin about this reply they gave. It makes sense to me. I presume you're downloading to USB and then taking things home. If you're at a library and having trouble, definitely ask to show this to the Net Admin there. AT my library, the ladies at the ref desk are pretty good about downloading things that people are having trouble with, since their computers are less restricted and they aren't running any installers.

Wherever you've been trying to get this, the download attempt may be affected by a proxy server outside your control. That is, they may have all web traffic going through an in-house proxy server, such as for content filtering. Whatever the case, I tried a few downloads from my collection. Each file is coming via http from the servers at wpc.11df.edgecastcdn.net

A CDN is a "content distribution network," if you didn't know. Some of these get trapped by filtering or, because they have broad swaths of IP addresses, your connection to them may be getting pointed to the wrong address. If you're NOT already using your public library for this, try it. If it seems restricted, then check with them to see if you can download executable files (.exe's) to your own USB stick. My library is set up to allow the download, but not running the executable from USB nor the desktop (and access to deeper in the filesystem is also disabled).

I hope this helps.

they added 3
For the record, these games are now shown as Coming soon all at once:

Jazzpunk
Red Faction 2
Broken Age
Wizardry 8
Strike Suit Zero

Are we going to have 5 new deals every 36 minutes? Or is this an indication of some bigger change?
