Conrad57: Anyway, here's the question. Wouldn't it support GOG more to pay full price instead of waiting for flash sales? Obviously it would.
avatar
skeletonbow: Of course. If 100 people are absolutely going to buy a game and the regular price is $10 and the sale price is $2 and all 100 people buy the game, and they all pay $10, that would support GOG (or whoever) more than if everyone paid the sale price. That much as you suggest in less words goes without saying so to speak. ;o)

But that is a math textbook example where a guaranteed 100 people are buying something no matter what, and that's not really how the real world works for selling products. It's much more complicated than that.
BARF!

Wow, you really missed my point after the rhetorical question. However, with writing something that long, perhaps you started answering before I went back and clarified myself by adding "rhetorical" in there about 3 minutes after I posted it; about 3, maybe 4...

My point was that paying a little or a lot, I appreciate people buying on GOG because I found my old favorites there. I don't have enough time to read your novel reply. Yes, that's a pun. I read the first 3 sentences, jumped to the 3rd paragraph, skimmed more, and gave up. I've taken the economics and accounting classes and can run a business. You totally missed the point. I can see that by what you quoted. Try this quote again from my original post, "So, whether we support with a little (flash sale) or a lot (full price), thanks! ..." Why thanks? Because I've personally benefited from everyone who has supported GOG. Go re-read it.

Not sorry. I don't have time to read your rewrite of textbooks I've already learned.

It's possible that you may have misinterpreted the intention of my post which is just friendly conversation about the concepts and to a larger audience. I wasn't challenging you in any way, but actually agreeing with you and recognizing the rhetoric as you say. You admit to having not actually read my full post though so it is possible that you misunderstand me perhaps for not having actually read what I said? ;o)

That's ok I'm not offended in any way though if you don't have the time or inclination to read the whole thing, it's all just friendly chit chat and nothing serious or life changing in the end (for either of us). :) If you do decide later to read it all though and do so with the mindframe of me coming from a good place with good intentions, then you're totally in the right mindframe about my thoughts. :) If not, no worries, it's all good either way. Peace to you.

No need to be rude to the friendly Canadian. He may have been a bit verbose but he's a good dude.

Anybody have input on Moebius: Empire Rising? Seems to have very polarizing reviews.

Good. Thanks. The problems is that it's very long and doesn't address my main point (the thanks) from the outset. By the way, paying full price versus a sale (and I'm keeping a tab open, refreshing the flash sales) is a personal choice. I'm aware of this. Glancing at the end of your post is still indicative of it being a repetition of everything from school. (Be happy I wasn't one of these guys who whines about paying at all. Geeze, those guys bug me.) Back to the personal choice, I'm thinking of just buying the new RealMyst release straight out. This service has been great!

Yeah, I keep the homepage open in a tab and have Firefox set to auto-reload it every 60s or so (Tab Mix Plus) - very handy. I finished the original Myst and Riven in 2006 although it seems like yesterday. Started Exile but got sidetracked and never restarted it. Been meaning to try the Real Myst out but also never got to it yet, now they have that new one out. I'll go through both of them sometime just to see the progression of the classic over time. Still have all my hand written notes from back then kicking around too. :) Will have to keep an eye out for the new version to hit that $2ish sweet spot though. All in due time. :)
crap Shadow Warrior came up... ugh *thinking thinking*.....

The bundles will show up at some point again in the middle or the end of the sale, don't worry. Also games featured in bundles don't seem to be in flash deals.

I assume they will have a better bundle discount than 50% standard that is going for most of the games right now?......anyone got link to Jmich's post with the *possible bundles* ?

Yes. The D&D bundle had a 80% discount and the total cost was $21.10.
Does anyone have an idea of Lionheart could be in any bundle? Somehow I don't feel like paying $3 for it as it's not that a great game from the reviews...
YAY... Settlers and Gothic bundles... I think my wallet will weep :D

The worst thing about all these Bundle Sales is not your wallet but your time-space momentum - You'll never have enough space in your HDD and enough time in your life to play all the games you want to buy. ;)

I don't keep all my games on my HDD... as for time.. THAT indeed is the sad part... I really don't have enough time to play all my games :(.
Hey, it's King of Dragon Pass, finally! I missed this game the last FOUR times it was on sale... revenge! ;)
