There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

ElvenSquirrel: The first half of Far Cry is really good. Then it turns into generic Doom with you fighting mutants.
I cannot recommend Far Cry 2. If you like Doom 3 though it may be worth picking up the first one.
But can you recommend Far Cry? ;-P

BillyMaysFan59: Can anyone recommend Far Cry to someone who has played games like Deus Ex? I'm in the mood for more open world first-person games. :D
avatar
Telika: Uh, it's completely different. Far Cry is a pure shooter. It's closer to some outdoor Doom than to any story-driven stats-based Deus Ex.

I'd recommend Far Cry to people who loved Lucasart's Outlaws.
Thanks.

Far Cry is a lot of fun. Challenging too. It's a pure shooter where the AI is pretty good. You can't just go into areas with guns a'blazing. You need to scout out areas to find the best approaches with good cover. I got to the very end but couldn't beat the last scene, even on easy setting. I liked it better than half-life 2 because you could incorporate more strategies to accomplish the same task.
continuing the Far Cry thing... How is FC 1 or 2 compared to 3? I hated FC 3 butI love challening FPS. are they comparable?

I would recommend Far Cry only for people who like extremely challenging games. The game is so incredibly difficult, it`s frustrating. I once had the game when it came out. I played it but at a certain point I wasn´t able to get any further. It was a fight on a ship afair and after trying to survive more tha 50 times I gave up and ripped it from my hd. And I was playing on the easiest difficulty!

A question:
How good is Expedicion: Conquistadores? It seems to be some turn-based RPG. How much RPG is in this game?

phaolo: Believe me, that's nothing for a gamer. Some people bought 700+ titles here plus other titles elsewhere.
But I'm fine with my choices (mostly) and I've already played a lot of them.
The backlog is still huge, but I'm set for the near future lol.
When my wishlist will be emptied, I'll just have to check new GOG releases.

Minmataro: HAHA Well i would hope you are happy with your choices. I know i am. At certain points i do get frustrated though since i struggle to find the time to play everything.

Still think it would be a good idea to put together a Digital game buying addicts support group lol.
how do you know know many gog games you have? i think i have about 125, but i don't see a number.

other than bundles, i only ever get stuff that is $5(4.99) max and most of it less at $3 or $2. the way i look at it i have no problem paying $1 or so for music and while it has better replayability it's much shorter. so i don't mind trying out cheap games even if i don't finish them or play them a lot.

tbh, a fair amount of games i buy for the included soundtrack or other bonuses or i'll go into the game files and rip the assets to convert the music and art myself. with gog galaxy it'd be cool to have a music player to stream music from the games you own, especially if it did the conversion from game files to audio for you if needed.

also, being old games that run in dosbox or wine i don't have to worry so much that i won't be able to run them in the future.

although i'm probably close to owning all the dos and windows games i want and most of the newer stuff isn't all that appealing to me!

if gog galaxy is good at allowing us to easily setup virtual networks for multiplayer without finding and loading and configuring a bunch of other software, there are a load of good old multiplayer games or games that have multiplayer components that i'd re-buy if i could easily find people to play them with. i know a few games i bought on gog and then i realized after that what i remembered being most fun was the multiplayer. i'd repurchase system shock 2 for some co-op, i'd probably get more of the heroes of might and magic series, various real time strategy games and so on. if warcraft 2 ever came to gog...

i wonder if (when?) they will get into offering games on other old platforms like amiga, atari, old mac computers, etc. honestly, i'd love to pay the devs of those some money and also not have have to deal with setting up an emulator myself.

i think it'd be cool to see gog move beyond old games too. there are tons of wild, still innovative art and music apps for old platforms and with the interest in retro-gaming, pixel art, chip tunes and so on i bet there'd be a market. if you count apps and games there are probably at least 100 i'd buy.

okay enough typing while waiting for omnikron sale to activate... :)

FC1 and FC2 are extremely different, hard to relate. I think FC3 is closer to FC2, as it's more open, with various missions and lot of travelling. FC1 is simpler : you just progress "linearily" even though it's through a wide landscape that allows for a great freedom of tactical approaches, but you don't backtrack or select different "quests". You just continue your one journey, in one linear progression from island to island...

Kind of. Like I said if you liked Doom3 you'll probably like Far Cry.
My Story: I bought FarCry many years ago upon release. I played it through and beat it. I will not be purchasing it again.

foodeater: how do you know know many gog games you have? i think i have about 125, but i don't see a number.
Well you could do it the old fashion way: count them. Or wait until one is updated, it then displays a count at the top.
Me I have it written down and add to it each time I add a game and check it for accuracy when there is an update.
I bought 5 games during this sale so far and I now have 489 games.
Unreal Tournament 2004, or rather the bundle, looks very tempting. I already have UT2004 on six CD-ROMs, on the other hand, if I get UT2004 again, I can actually use them both for LAN gaming in my home. Very tempting.

Though, I am trying to get Rayman Origins, if it becomes flash sale or something. If not, I'd probably would pay the $10 anyway. I tried the demo on Steam, it's great, but just because it's DRM-free here, I think we all know what's the better option. ;)
Well, decided to get the Age of Wonders bundle, waiting for tomorrow dailies now (already managed to secure the ones I was interested from the flash deals)

On my account page the number of games i own is right at the top above the game box displays.

Any chance you can give us a screen capture of that since I can't find the number of games too.
