There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

Eritherian: Hello,
there is almost 700 games with discounted price, but why for example SimCity 4, from year 2003 !!!!, is for 19.99$??? On Steam, it is available for 9.99$, no discount. Why is this game here so expensive? And why, there is no discount for this game??

budejovice: It was just released on GOG a few weeks ago. There are a few games that are not discounted during this sale, but the majority of them are releases from this Spring.

On the release of SimCity 4, a bunch of folks commented on the base pricing. At least it's DRM-free. :)
omg

well!

Blame the publisher. Obviously they prefer Steam. Premium to get it DRM free on GOG -- some prefer it :)

The regular price of Sim City 4 on Steam is also $19.99 and it is not showing up as on sale there right now for me at least:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/24780/

People need to realize that the regular prices of the majority of video games out there are going to be either the same or very close to the same between various retailers but there will be the odd game that is a few bucks difference for a variety of reasons including different regions, different whims of the developer/publisher/distributor, but most games are the same regular price everywhere for a given region. Also, people need to realize that when a game goes on sale somewhere, all distributors decide either on their own when that will be, or in conjunction with the game publisher through some form of agreement or whatever, and that the distributors generally do not synchronize all of their sales to occur at the same time, but decide when they're going to put games on sale on their own accord likely without any knowledge of what other distributors are doing. In fact, if they were to share this information with each other they would violate anti-competition laws in many countries.

So, if you see a game on sale on one store and not at another store it is because that is how the entire real world works with all products, not just video games, and the amount of discount will also vary from one store to another, from one time of year to another or other factors as different human beings are deciding what goes on sale on Steam versus GOG, in the same way different human beings are deciding what goes on sale at what discount at Walmart versus Joe's Corner Store.

If you're seeing Sim City advertised on Steam either on sale or regular price for $9.99, it sure isn't on sale in Canada, and the regular price showing for me is $19.99. In that case, welcome to the joys of regional pricing discrepancies and sales policies which vary from store to store for video games the same way it does for eggs, towels, shoes, car tires and ear wax remover syringes. :)

Yes, I'm stating the obvious... but maybe it isn't so obvious if people need to ask in forums? I dunno... ;oP
Jack Keane arriving on gogs doorstep again!

Yeah and 3 months from now the game will be $2.49 on sale on GOG and $19.99 not on sale on Steam likely. If one looks at the price of every single game in GOG and compares it with every single game on Steam, GMG, Gamersgate, etc. they will find for one given game it is cheaper on one store at a given instant in time, and another store at a different instant while the reverse is true for some other game.

What baffles me is people thinking or expecting all game prices should be synchronized 100% to each other at all storefronts globally all the time, including sale prices and all in the same currency. Nothing else on the planet is sold that way so it should not be a surprise that games aren't either. ;o)

Well, Sim City 4 in Steam shows up for me 9,99 euros, which in dollars is about $20- so basically, it's the same price.(seeing that you are form the Czech Republic and all-which to my knowledge is in the eurozone- you probably confused the euro price with the dollar price)

I think everyone should buy Jack Keane 1 when it comes on sale 1% off baby
Yeah that was a bad idea to check gog before bed.

Purchased a bunch of stuff, was also going to get Alpha Centauri but the purchase form went all weird.
Refreshed the page, re-added the games.. suddenly it went up in price?
Check the store page, listed at higher price. Oh well, guess I missed it, won't get it then.
Confirm order. Add to wishlist for future reference... it's back at the low price, what?

Oh well, wonder why the cart went weird like it did. Got a ton of stuff regardless.

Niggles: Arx Fatalis -- maybe the devs arent that nice -- this game rarely goes on sale.
That's a pity, I was hoping to pick it up this sale.

Erm... SimCity 4 has been released on GOG at the end of may, a bit over two weeks ago and sold for $4.99 (75% off). I would be really surprised to see it in the summer sale.

I finally grabbed Jack Keane :)
This is madness! Have pity on me GoG, my poor old battered wallet is crying tears of blood, lying helplessly on stand-by as I watch the next flash deal clock ticking away, waiting to grab in on a moment's notice and throw it at the screen again (and again and again). Mercy!
Divinity 2 for 4$.. I.. cannot resist..

(but is it good?)
