With 700+ games discounted up to 90% off, daily special Bundle Deals, a constant stream of exciting Flash Sales, and some fantastic surprise giveaways, we launch into the season of gaming joy!

The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our 2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

HypersomniacLive: There never was such a thing as a "normal" freebie. All GOG told us is that there would be 4 secret flash giveaways and to keep an eye out for them - they never committed to the giveaways happening in certain, steady intervals, nor that they'd be up for grabs for a predefined time span.
The fact that we the users speculated on patterns and drew some flawed statistics without having any concrete data to base them on, and that we the users relied on them is exclusively on us and GOG can't and shouldn't be blamed.

Not to mention that GOG doesn't owe us any freebies in the first place, they were (are) a nice gesture, but mostly a marketing tool to draw new users in.
Not sure where you got me saying they owed us anything, but "normal freebie" came from three games in a row being up for two-plus hours for free. That set an expectation for the final one which had nothing to do with the speculated lists you talked about. And since it was shown (thanks to a previous poster) that AW:AN was a tease for an hour and a half, followed by a stupidly quick giveaway of a half an hour, I don't think I'm out of line in the least in saying that felt a bit on the cheap side. Of course, that was some eight hours ago. I've since slept, and gotten over it. I just wanted to clear things up since you replied to me :)

Now, I'm going back to playing Betrayer, as I finally got the hang of that game.

mortalkombat: there arent 4000 titles in GOG
To tell you the truth, this is how most of my jokes go over.
I must admit, i'm a little late to the GOG club, but this insane, THANK you GOG for this, so many awesome classics, so many titles, rolling fast, at awesome prices, I found so many of my youths precious titles.
Your concept of no DRM and putting players first... hats down to you gents!
All i can say more then this... is bring it!

RPGOracle: Well, we don't know the reason why they refused. We haven't heard gog's side of the story. Maybe the developers asked for too big a percentage of the selling price?
I just did a bit of research and it turns out that this game has appeared in two popular bundles in the past:
http://isthereanydeal.com/#/page:game/info?plain=nethergateresurrection

Distributors/retailers, it seems to only be available for purchase through Steam and at $0.99 which is pretty cheap:
http://isthereanydeal.com/#/page:game/price?plain=nethergateresurrection

The number of games out there is probably very high having been in 2 bundles to date, and with the price point dropping to $0.99 on sale to move on Steam without being available on other retailers (not just GOG), as enjoyable as many people find these games they just might not have enough global interest to move in volume sufficient enough for other retailers to want to stock them with low margins like that. I imagine it is on Steam for two reasons, one is that just about any game can get on Steam and the second is that Steam is willing to take just about any game that wants to try and get on Steam and rather indiscriminately but other retailers tend to be more selective of the games that they take on.

Just speculation but I'm guessing that despite the enthusiasm some folks might have for the game series or the developer, that the actual games are perceived to not be as popular in the marketplace as their enthusiastic gamers that love the series would like them to be. I don't know either way, just purely speculative on my part (I haven't played any of these games so have no opinion).

If the publisher was to offer the entire series of games in one game pack such as the Master of Magic 1-6 pack for example, the combination of multiple games packaged together for one low price of say $5.99 that could fetch a $1.49-2 sale price might be a different consideration perhaps. Hard to say.

Another thing too though is that there are a tremendous amount of RPGs out there, both oldschool and new so it's a crowded and competitive scene to say the least although GOG.com does have an avid base of RPG aficionado gamers here too. :)

prof.C20H25N3O: Hey guys, does anyone remember what the price of Hitman Contracts was in the bundle if you purchased it alone? Was it still $4.99? It's the last game I want and I'm tired of waiting for the encore date, especially if I don't save a buck or two.
$3.99 cherry picked from bundle, $1.99 in bundle if memory serves correct. It's only 4 more days until the speculated encore date though, worth the wait for picking up missed titles IMHO. Of course there's no guarantee there will be an encore either but GOG definitely has something up their sleeves for that day as there are no bundles planned uniquely for that day so it makes sense to be an encore day.

I for one sure love the encore days either at the end or mid-stream too as they've saved me a few times when I previously missed a bundle or something. :) This time around I'm fairly certain that I managed to get everything I wanted and probably twice as many things I didn't really need or previously want. hehehe

But... if you need to take out a contract on someone right away, the current price isn't highway robbery either. :)

Welcome!

But be careful what you wish for. You will soon own all the games. :)

I started buying heavily this February - I'm pretty sure I'm ahead of IAmSinistar's pace since he joined...

IAmSinistar: Not likely to be one this time, given our research and what showed up on the All Daily Deals day. Would be nice to have one eventually though. Same with a Prince Of Persia bundle.
Yeah, I imagine the games being new additions to the catalogue are still having their field day as bigger individual sellers. Plus there is a bigger price spread from one game to the next which makes them not too bundletastic as bundles tend to be games within a certain narrow price range of each other. That's speaking of the STALKER games that is. Dunno about Prince of Persia, those seem to have been around for quite a while and might be overdue, but then that's Ubi titles IIRC so I wouldn't expect much on that front. :)

I guess I'm pretty much in the same boat as you guys, waiting for a bundle of both of these to eventually show or to cherry pick individual titles in promos along the way for $2.49 or less. A lot of the bundle deals that show up during promos are repeats from prior promos though so there's room for some new blood in town too though. :)

HypersomniacLive: Hey, look IAmSinistar - Master of Orion is coming soon again! How long will you resist the calling? ;-P
I've got the first two games but haven't played them yet (backlogitis), how does the 3rd game fare compared to the first 2?

I've never played 3, but everything I've heard is that it is the bastard redheaded stepchild of the series. Was that rude?
It appears GOG has mixed up the order of the contests and now can't receive any e-mails from the participants:

Can't help there, never played the 3rd one. My post is just part of an ongoing joke that you'd have to go back a good number of pages in the tracker thread to catch up with.
So, I miss anything interesting after I gave up waiting on Alan and passed out last night?

No arguing. I gave up on getting that game. HypersomniacLive said a couple of things I wanted to address, that's all :)
