The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

mortalkombat: some other guy was in the exact same spot and had the exact same dillema....

and he consider it too much 4$ just for Hitamn 3
when he had bought elsewhere hitman 1+2+4(+5 ??) for total $8
I don't mind spending a little more here, especially since GOG gave me Magrunner for free.
Forgot to post yesterday, cheers for the free games GOG!

HypersomniacLive: Hey, look IAmSinistar - Master of Orion is coming soon again! How long will you resist the calling? ;-P
Quite easily I feel, since I shall be eating dinner by the time it arrives and thus can let it pass by harmlessly. :)

HypersomniacLive: I'm leaning towards "if it was a glitch or some screw up on GOG's part they'd have told us, at least in this thread".

And if they didn't want to "ruin" the feeling of Adrenaline Rush, I expect them to come clean at a later time and even make up before the sale is over.

And though it doesn't really matter anymore, true, I really don't appreciate the attitude and some of the tone and vocabulary used to express dissatisfaction, or worse entitlement.
Being critical of GOG is fine when justified, baseless bashing is not.

Just my 2c.
Yeah, they'll most likely tell us either way I figured too so I wasn't overly concerned either way myself really. Just not a big deal, they do their best IMHO and sometimes something breaks or doesn't work out the best it could. Just the nature of things really..

Or course I totally agree with your thoughts about entitlement mentality etc. as well. That seems to be human nature from observation though as well. I'll never be able to fully understand that myself but I guess everyone chooses to experiences things in their own way. GOG is awesome in my eyes, and that's all that matters to me. ;oP

JinseiNGC224: I've inquired to them about bringing it here but they claim it currently runs on steamworks. This was only 2 months ago. Not sure why they'd tell me that if it's really DRM-free. I might just buy it there, then (or patiently wait longer for it to come here).
Not sure, but Steamworks itself is just a set of APIs that can be used optionally and which has an optional DRM component as well. It's up to a game developer whether or not they use Steamworks and if they do, it's up to them which features they actually use and whether or not they decide to use the Steamworks CEG DRM or to require any of the features of Steam they use as a mandatory thing. There are DRM-free games on Steam (I own many) so the claim isn't without plausibility although I haven't looked into it specifically for Torchlight II (which I own on Steam). Some games on Steam that do use Steamworks (without CEG) do so optionally and can be ran with Steam features disabled as well. Some just need an option like /nosteam added to their commandline or some other mechanism.

I really don't know if Torchlight II is DRM free or not in all senses of the word though. It does require a Runic account to play online multplayer though and some people will consider that to be DRM on its own. While the game is both single player (like Torchlight) and multiplayer (unlike Torchlight), the multiplayer component is the big addition to the newer game. I can't remember if it has a LAN multiplayer mode or direct IP for multiplayer though (it's been a while). I do remember using a Runic account to play it though. I'd have to fire the game up to check for a LAN mode to be certain.

Great game though either way.

Falkenherz: Here is a free key for Magrunner Dark Pulse, for anyone who missed the freebie:

LV62-6MJA-MJ4A-85TR

Have fun!
Ah someones already claimed it. Anyone else got one going spare, it looks like a decent game.

power_overdrive: Sorry I'm not quite updated about the status of stuffs, and it's taking me very long to back read forum threads. So let me just ask: are all the freebies done, and I can finally go to sleep?
yes you can rest...in peace

HeDanny: been there! Bought the first game of some military RTS I can't even remember the name of now during insomnia. I'm sure its part of the plan of these things. Of course during this sale I bought the second game in that series cos.. well.. I had the first. urgh. At least I didn't cave and buy the Wing commander pack. Or Red Baron. Or Strike Commander.

... yet.
Just do it, you know you want to. :) I own all of the mentioned games... peer pressure... ;)

In my very limited testing, Torchlight II on steam requires the client to be running - if it's not, the client auto-starts.

I've never logged in - I'm not sure I even have a runic account. I've only ever played single player though.
