The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

phaolo: Hey, should I get Avadon1&2 if I already bought Avernum and Geneforge?
Some say that this saga is inferior to the others..

(and what about Eschalon1-3 ?)
I haven't gotten around to playing the Avadon games yet, but I played the first two Eschalon games when they were released (and am actually going through Book I again right now) and I really enjoyed them.

reggiecalabrio: Hey all. Did anyone happen to grab a free gift on Alan Wake American Nightmare that needs a good home? I feel asleep just before the 30 minutes took place. Snoozers are losers :(
Check your PM's!

The consensus seems to be that while Avadon is a bit more polished, it's less difficult for veteran CRPG fans. I plan on starting with Avadon and then moving on to Avernum and Geneforge.
I've been more excited by this sale than Steam's. I've bought more here too. :)

I've picked up the entire Wing Commander bundle, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Masters of Orion 1&2 and the Leisure Suit Larry bundle. I find myself checking the main page multiple times during each day just so I don't miss a great deal.

The free games are nice too, I missed the Alan Wake freebie, but I did get the other 3 so really not much to complain about.

Thanks GoG!

leonhle: I am actually quite disappointed with the 30 minutes move for Alan Wake's American Nightmare. :/
So am I.
I fell asleep.

But to show how much I hate GOG now, I am going to buy Blackguards as soon as I see it to thank them for giving me 3 other games yesterday and a 4th one who's date I forget...

Long live the GOG!!!

Yeah, thanks for the freebies, GOG. It put me in a good mood... and consequently I bought a few games in the sale I normally wouldn't. ;) :)

Maybe some day I'll even get to play them...

Thanks to both.
Has anyone played all 4? (at least partially)
Are Avadon and Eschalon stories completed?

I really enjoyed playing both the Avadon saga and the Eschalon series. I've just started Eschalon Book III and whist it seems to be taking me a bit longer to get into it than the other two books, I am actually having a lot of fun with it. The Avadon games are also an ongoing story and are well worth a play through so I reckon you should give them a go especially as they are in the sale right now. I definitely recommend getting both of the game series :)
Missed the 4th free game

Guess I'll just sit here and wait for some super awesome GOG person to donate the gift code, you KNOW you wanna help bunnie :)
Thank you for all the entries in our Flash Video Contest! We know who winners are, now. They'll be getting their games this Friday!

Same goes for me if anyone has a spare gift code, that they would be generously willing to spare. I was asleep when it was free for a limited time.
Looks like a lot of us missed Alan Wake due to the half an hour length but you never know, maybe they'll offer it again on the final day of the sale. If not, c'est la vie.

I'm happy that I did manage to get some of the freebies so a really big thanks goes to GOG for their generosity :)

You should try the "missed freebies" thread. People there gift the freebies games ;)

rayden54: Not really. Especially not when you get to watch that price go up just because you won't buy everything,
avatar
Coelocanth: Conversely, you could look at it this way: pretty much the whole catalog is offered at 50% off right now. The individual games in the bundle are offered at an even better discount of 60% or watch the price go down even further if you buy them all. *shrug*
Not only do they expect you to pay more to buy individual games, they exclude them from the flash sales. No. Buying the games at the lesser discount only validates their crap. It's not acceptable.
