There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!
And the final feature of the Adrenaline Rush extravaganza was... NOTHING! Anticlimatic much? Well, we definitely have no reson to complain after all we've got so far. And could there be some surprises in store? Banished? Grim Fandango? Who knows?!

HypersomniacLive: Perhaps it is?
I already read that, but that could be due to it being planned to be the way it unfolded, or due to a glitch that caused them to have to cut it short and just announce it as a shorter giveaway. No way of knowing either way unless they tell us though. Kind of doesn't matter anymore though too as it's all past history now. I'm more interested in what happens next. :) Banished!

skeletonbow: GOG would probably never do this because of people who don't have a good sense of humour feeling disenfranchised by being pranked but... I think it would be hilarious if GOG pulled a prank promo on us and rickrolled everyone with a fake Flash promo like "The Witcher 3 Preorder FREE" -> rickroll. Something like that would make me laugh my ass off, and double so if they totally burned me with it. Might even go ahead and buy the thing right away just for the laugh... :)

Sadly I don't think they'd try something humourous of that nature as there are others who would put on white sheets and gather horses and torches... :)
Fortunately, in many countries, that's illegal. Yay! :)

IronArcturus: What were the last free games from the last cycle?
From yesterday?

If I'm not mistaken, they were:
Omerta: City of Gangsters.
Torchlight.
Still Life 2.
Alan Wake: American Nightmare.
I want to fly an X-Wing or a Tie Fighter for like 10 hours straight without getting out of my chair, possibly attacking a Star Destroyer or something. I'm just saying.

Who is with me?

No problem! =)
Ah, so it seems that I didn't miss any of the freebies... woke up early this morning for some reason and managed to grab American Nightmare at the last minute :P

Thanks once again GOG for doing these giveaways, shows how awesome you guys are. :-)
Curious, anyone grab AW:AN that wants to gift it? I missed that one somehow....

If LucasArts doesn't take a cue from the spate of recent space sim games like Star Citizen and announce an Oculus Rift-compatible X-Wing reboot, it'll be a crime.
And today's new promos are up now and we're back to the normal run and some relaxation. :) Time for a few more hours of sleep methinks.

Seriously though, thanks GOG, ye all are just the finest lads and lasses in my book!

Picked up some nice free games and will hopefully pick up a few bargains as well as I still have game money I had originally earmarked for steam but haven't spent yet.

I hope if they do any new games that they are explicitly NOT microtransaction laden, DLC iaden, subscription based MMOs (f2p or otherwise) though, but regular single and multiplayer games. Might be hard to compete with Star Citzen's mindshare at this point though. It looks awesome but I reserve my enthusiasm for post release when it's more clear how the game will roll and fit into my gaming juju and whatnot :)

Ok, now sleep for sure! :)

I'm leaning towards "if it was a glitch or some screw up on GOG's part they'd have told us, at least in this thread".

And if they didn't want to "ruin" the feeling of Adrenaline Rush, I expect them to come clean at a later time and even make up before the sale is over.

And though it doesn't really matter anymore, true, I really don't appreciate the attitude and some of the tone and vocabulary used to express dissatisfaction, or worse entitlement.
Being critical of GOG is fine when justified, baseless bashing is not.

Just my 2c.
