The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

HypersomniacLive: There never was such a thing as a "normal" freebie. All GOG told us is that there would be 4 secret flash giveaways and to keep an eye out for them - they never committed to the giveaways happening in certain, steady intervals, nor that they'd be up for grabs for a predefined time span.
The fact that we the users speculated on patterns and drew some flawed statistics without having any concrete data to base them on, and that we the users relied on them is exclusively on us and GOG can't and shouldn't be blamed.

Not to mention that GOG doesn't owe us any freebies in the first place, they were (are) a nice gesture, but mostly a marketing tool to draw new users in.
Absolutely correct. It isn't clear if the Alan Wake giveaway was as-designed or due to website flaws that ended up artificially limiting the freebie period mind you. Kind of looks like either could be the case, but it doesn't really matter either way either as they've done a great job this sale and we've gotten lots of cool freebies. I bet more people got various freebies this sale than any previous sale for sure which is really cool. Perhaps GOG blues will let us know more today about what happened there with Alan Wake, but it doesn't matter IMHO. Heck, I got 3 free games I didn't have and one spare key to give away for a 4th game I do have. Missing out on one other I do own already isn't a huge loss for me that's for sure! ;)

I'd like to thank GOG for letting me get 3 hours of sleep though, which I needed for sure. :) Going to go get some more soon too after I see if anything special happens at 9.

Regardless of the pros and cons of GOG's marketing promo plans... how many people here find themselves glued to the GOG website and/or forums out of interest/fun/entertainment/socializing or other factors anyway, and I'm curious also whether anyone finds similar experiences/entertainment or socializing on other game distributors services? I spend 99% of my allotted gaming social time pretty much here on GOG these days, and maybe 0.1% on Steam or elsewhere, the rest is up in the air. :)

Great community here, and great company that keeps things most interesting - to me anyway for sure. :)

Now I just have to go back to waiting for Banished to show up, and then X-Wing Alliance. ;o)

SkyhawkHUN: Okay, can someone explain to me, how can a 5 USD game with 66% off costs 3,33 USD? I saw Space Colony HD in the coming soon section, and its seemed interesting so i checked upon it, the basic price was 5 USD half hour ago. Now it's suddenly rised to 10 USD. It wasn't nice guys.
I'm afraid you misunderstood what you were seeing at the time. :) Space Colony is priced 50% off during the Summer sale promo as a standard discount throughout the promo season. The Flash Sale price is just a greater discount of 66% off for a short time period when it comes up in the rotation. The regular price of this game is $9.99 making the Summer promo price $4,99 as a 50% discounted item, and $3.33 when discounted 66% in the flash promos. I can see how it might seem confusing if one hasn't discovered the details of the sale promo though. Either way, two great deals compared to paying the full $9.99 price when it's not on sale. ;)

benderz: I'm waiting the Kentucky Route Zero's deal for this adrenaline rush, hope I'm not too late !

j0ekerr: It's been at least once... it might still pop up again.
Might.
Hopefully :-)
That Alan Wake deal was sneaky and evil. Maybe I shouldn't have gone to sleep after all... ;)

edit: Scratch that, got it from figgymanna. Thanks. :)

I am actually quite disappointed with the 30 minutes move for Alan Wake's American Nightmare. :/
And obviously during the time where I have to sleep I miss Torchlight, then during only time of the week where its impossible to be online for a few hours.. the postponed alan goes up and down. *sigh*
Already missed magrunners this way as well.
*shrugs* Could be worse I guess, at least I got Omerta and Still Life 2.

So, thanks GOG, but pwease pwease... no more extreme teasing like the repeated postponing of the alan wakeaning , kay? :)

I wouldn't fret about it. There will be oodles of people who got it and others who got keys to give away. Keep an eye on forum giveaways that are happening now and over the next several weeks and there will probably be a lot of codes being given away. If you miss out on one of them you have good chances to get one of hundrends of other free games. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of freebies floating around on GOG every day so it's hard for me at least to be too concerned of missing out on one out of hundreds of opportunities that come by. :) Just something to think about anyway. Hope you win something in one of the giveaways!

Perhaps it is?
What were the last free games from the last cycle?

Crewdroog: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in"
Well, I only saw one of the freebies, torchlight, which I plan on gifting to a friend. Apparently I missed something with the witcher as well, but I own the first and 2 and 3 are way beyond my computers capabilities.

DENVIC: If you still need it, I could PM you a code for Torchlight.

Edit:

Oh no, I meant I already have it plus I got a second copy for free yesterday. But thank you for the kind offer :) +1
Looks like that's it for the giveaways from yesterday. Guess it's still a matter of keeping eyes open for those last few games that haven't appeared. Here's to waiting to see what comes of them!
GOG would probably never do this because of people who don't have a good sense of humour feeling disenfranchised by being pranked but... I think it would be hilarious if GOG pulled a prank promo on us and rickrolled everyone with a fake Flash promo like "The Witcher 3 Preorder FREE" -> rickroll. Something like that would make me laugh my ass off, and double so if they totally burned me with it. Might even go ahead and buy the thing right away just for the laugh... :)

Sadly I don't think they'd try something humourous of that nature as there are others who would put on white sheets and gather horses and torches... :)
