The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

Heimklonhm: Always.

To controll myself, I was told : Buy a game only if you are totally sure that you will complete it in the next 6 months.

To tell you the truth, it helps but only a little... ;)

skeletonbow: Hahahahaha! Crap, I've got 301 games on GOG now, and whenever we say such things we're not really accounting properly because how many of those are Might and Magic 1-84 collection and Geneforge 1-233434 with 934234 expansion packs etc. so 301 games is more like 389472347 games on GOG :) Then 260 or so games on Steam, zillions others on CD/DVD, Shinyloot and other DRM-free, various open source games etc. At the end of the day, I could play games 24/7 without eating, drinking or walking for probably 200 years and never finish them or never even start all of them. LOL

I've violated that 6 month rule more times than not then.... :) Of course, I classify "play a game" as installing it and playing it regularly with intent to complete it or otherwise fully experience what it is supposed to offer, or a serious attempt to do so. I don't count installation just to give a game a trial or test-run to see what it's like as officially being "I played it" though. :)
I know this scenario all too well... I also have a large backlog of books, honestly at this point I'm hoping science somehow masters biological immortality so I have time to work through all the things I want to.
It'll be "funny" when the last freebie ends up being some broken lackluster dud (not to seem ungrateful, but I'd appreciate the irony of investing hours to get a game that could be had for less than $2 in a good sale... because I'm doing it too).

For my own sanity, I've recently decided to stop perceiving my Steam library as, well, my library. Now I'm trying to look at it as a store where everything is free (pre-paid?) and when I start playing a game I'll add it to my Favorites list and only look at that list unless I need to grab a new game to play from the depths of my Steam account. :P

I'm afraid if I continue to treat my Steam library as a backlog that I feel compelled to finish eventually, it'll suck much of the joy out my gaming. I have to let go a little. :)

LOL. I don't have as many games but have a huge backlog too.
The only way I can convince myself that I'm not doing a bad thing when bying a game is that I get it for really cheap here or at Humble Bundle DRM free if I can.
Each 6-pack of games appears to appear 36 minutes apart. One has a countdown of 36m or less and when it expires the next 6-pack down bumps up and shows the minutes instead of 1hr. If my math is correct (I'm tired so I might be off...) With 5 6-packs of games showing all at once plus 1 6-pack of coming-soon. From the split second we see a rotation take place, that would be 36m * 6 for a game just rotating in at the bottom coming-soon until it rolls off the top as gone. That works out to 216 minutes or 3 hours and 36 minutes if I've got it right. So, if one goes and lays down as soon as a rotation starts, with a 3hr alarm, you have 36m or less to react if a game not visible on the page when you went to sleep ends up rotating in during the very next rotation, or longer if not.

Someone more awake and alert can refine my math if that's off. :)

cmdr_flashheart: Wait, guys, this thread was posted 15 hours ago, and if we expect them all to appear in a 24 hour span, then that means that there's still 9 hours or so left.
avatar
hummer010: Don't say that. I want to get to bed in the next hour or so. Otherwise tomorrow is going a long day.
Sorry, don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but it's just something to consider.

Sleep isn't so much as a problem as I have other stuff to do, but I don't want to miss it! Lol ^^

skeletonbow:
Ahh, you jinxed me! I'll miss it for sure now :p

I know what you mean, though, EST is pretty central like that. But should be 9AM EST, no? Unless I am missing something.

Rakuru:
Someone else also said it might be Banished, I seriously doubt it; more likely to be Alan Wake AN.

Go back a few pages and read the wise words of Skeletonbow m'kay?
i'm just going to wait through this next set, and if it doesn't pop, just get up in about 2.5 hours and look again, my CPU is right by my bed so it only takes a few mins to check.

This sale is really easy to deal with compared to the insomnia ones

Sounds about right.

Honestly, I doubt it's Banished also. But I might as well enjoy the last few minutes or hours of uncertainty and anticipation while I may. :)

Edit: If it is Banished, I retract my above statement and will have always had faith that it would come to pass.

Naw, Banished is very highly anticipated and gets great reviews/sentiment from everything I've seen, and the Alan Wake games are both very good and have great graphics also. Those are the most likely candidates for freebie. The Outlast DLC or Omerta Gold are the other two and we already had one of the Omerta offerings show up free. DLC for free would only be useful to people with the base game and lots of people that don't have that would complain about the "useless freebie" so that one is unlikely. I'd be willing to bet a big bucket of virtual back bacon n maple syrup that it's Banished or Alan Wake American Nightmare personally. :)

Yeah, my bad, that should have been 9:00AM EST... sleep deprivation brain fog. :)

Omertas was already given out though. :P
I'm guessing (but not hoping!) that if Banished is a freebie it'll be on the last day
In this situation, us MST'ers are at an advantage. It's only 22:30 here. I'm not even up late yet. I do get up at 05:30 though, so bedtime is coming soon. C'mon freebie!
Time to go to bed and get some sleep !!! If the freebie game is Banished, someone here please don't forget to get it to me.

:P
