The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our 2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!
Yes, Eador Genesis was a surprisingly amazing game, worth every penny.
Time to decide on whether or not to blow my whole budget now... I can only pick one so:
Sword of the Stars: The Pit or King's Bounty: Crossworlds?

BKGaming: I'm not one to usually keep up with these summer sales... how long do they usually last?
avatar
skeletonbow: A few weeks usually. Judas has indicated this sale will run until June 30.
Thanks. :)

Never played The Pit, but the King's Bounty series is very good

Ok, I guess that's all the arm twisting I need today then. :) Just added Eador Genesis, Another World to my cart and just spotted Wizardry 8 for $1.99 too. I dunno how I missed that one the first glance. I need to eat some brain food I guess! :)

And there we go, another $5.97 shipped off to our good friends in Poland. ;)
Always the damn flash sales. Takes me 2-3 days to get the money on paypal. And even if I have the money ready I can't acces GOG at work.

skeletonbow: Is Eador Genesis any good? It's a good price at $1.49 and the premise sounds interesting to me. The reviews/rating are up there but I never trust website based ratings/reviews as they're usually filled with some amount of hype or fakes or astroturfing. I think this is the cheapest I've seen that game on sale anywhere before though. It is according to http://isthereanydeal.com/#/search:eador;/scroll:%23gamelist

Holy crap, I just mentioned Another World above and didn't notice that it *is* on flash sale right now for 75% off. Crap, I'm going to have to grab that now for sure. LOL I must be blind or something.
I bought it a few weeks ago and enjoyed it very much. Eador is a mix of games like Heroes of Might and Magic, Fantasy General or King's Bounty. It combines lots of rpg and strategy elements with a pinch of adventure. There is lots of things to discover. The interface is easy to understand and the tutorial allows you to grab the basics.
But the game is quite hard to master, the later battles can be tough.

King's Bounty is a pleasant mix of elements from rpg, strategy, and adventure games. The world map has colorful graphics and there is lots to discover. The battles are similar to Heroes of Might and Magic with some nice ideas thrown in. I still can't decide which one is better, Armored Princes or its predecessor.

Strange... I use immediate money transfer from my bank account to paypal. It took them about 2 minutes to tranfer the money. But I have my bank account number confirmed on my paypal account. Do you?
WIZARDRY question:

Would Wizardry 8 be enjoyable to someone who has never played any game of this series? Am tempted to get it at this price, but if the story and characters are building on previous games, I'm afraid I won't be able follow much of it. :/
I was going to buy Sin Gold but I didn't :( Looks good but yea

I played 8 first (I have the boxed edition). Didn't have any problems following the plot (although the 'space' theme was a suprise)

Yes I have my bank account confirmed. It just takes my bank 2-3 days to wire money. Maybe it's time I get a cc:(

n64link: Anyone else having problems with games not showing up in their library yet?
avatar
phaolo: Yes, this guy.
Well I sent a message to the support team. Hopefully easy to resolve. I got some games at "only" 50% off since I won't be able to do the insomnia thing today and certain ones were even lower thanks to the flash sale element.

For those who casually peruse the site this seems like the best sale. Those who can wait for a flash to pop up will get an even bigger discount, while those who just want the game are getting it for half price. Win-win for us.

EDIT/UPDATE: ... and as I post this, the team fixes it. I love that GOG guys don't waste any time even as I am sure it's a virtual nuthouse on their servers right now.

It seems that we can't apply fair price coupons for on sale items. That's a real oversight in my opinion.

Unfortunately that's been the case since they introduced the vouchers. Once I tried to contact support to see if they would manually apply the coupon to the discounted item but no go... fortunately the item I wanted ended up much much cheaper a few weeks later.
