With 700+ games discounted up to 90% off, daily special Bundle Deals, a constant stream of exciting Flash Sales, and some fantastic surprise giveaways, we launch into the season of gaming joy!

The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

darthyip: I knew I should've set my alarm. I wake up and find I missed the giveaway by 8 minutes.

Oh, well. Hopefully I'll catch the next one. Banished, maybe?
Argh, I missed it too, since I waited until my lunch break to visit the site. Oh well, the reviews and comments seem to suggest it wasn't so great a loss...

mortalkombat: you missed a broken game...(as everyone states above)
Maybe so, but I still would've liked to give it a go since turn-based games are my thing. Then again, it's not like turn-based games are rare these days (something I might have said had been true maybe 10-12 years ago).

Thanks to GOG, I have two more HOMM games to burn time through (IV and Chronicles), so I can't complain much (though my wallet can!).
Bah, I missed free Omerta. That what I get for sleeping. :D

so I went on and grabbed my free copy
then i spent 10-20 minutes on this forum/topic
from all the things I heard here regarding this game version, 1 thing is for sure, I wont even bother installing the game....

txnca: Very possible, but I am still of the opinion, waht difference does it make right now?! I have a HUGE backlog of games to play, so waiting for the patch isn't going to kill me, buying the DLC at a 75% discount shows the devs I am interested in their games, and do they really want to stop me from playing them the way I choose? 1 happy customer is better than 1 angry customer! 1 happy customer will tell 3 or4 people, 1 angry customer will tell EVERYONE who they come across about how they have been used and abused! I read in some business journal how 1 upset customer could lose you over 100 sales! Just 1.
It was added to your base game as +1 DLC.

skeletonbow: Ah, but that's "what difference does it make now to me" and not "what difference does it make now to every single person who purchased the game ever before". For you and I may not play the game for some time now due to backlog or other reasons and not be overly concerned so long as the patch does show up as promised before we want to play it, but we can't forget all of the people out there who went ahead and both this game perhaps with excitement anxious to play it right away who then encounter a game buster bug either. They certainly have a right to be upset knowing there is a bug fix made that is not provided to GOG.com and if I had bought the game myself and encountered this type of experience and been waiting for a bug that I know is fixed on Steam and elsewhere but not here, I'd be rather upset with the developer/publisher also for not providing a minimum level of expected customer service.

So I'm happy that I got the game for free of course, and I probably wont be affected by the problem as I can wait it out personally and I've got ample games queued in my backlog, but I feel empathetic for those who have had a bad customer experience due to this and feel slighted.

But, the company themselves ultimately loses bigtime from not stepping up to the plate, as upset/angry customers aren't going to go around spreading praise via word of mouth and writing good reviews, etc. - they'll be writing bad reviews, giving low star ratings, and telling of their experiences in forums, blogs, etc. and that is what other potential customers will see and be influenced to some degree by. Ultimately the companies out there create their own reputations in the end from their actions. :)

I wont say that I'd never buy Kalipso's games in the future but I am definitely on-guard to wait and see widespread consensus post-release of their games due to the sour experiences others have had from this one. They do have the ability to redeem themselves too though, time will tell. :)

bell02: one question about Omerta;

in my libary it said:
omerta +4DLC's 2.2.0 ??

but is it not version 1.06??

skeletonbow: You're probably confusing the actual game version with the GOG installer packaging version.
So as not to beat a dead horse anymore and since I think that most of us are on the same page here I will say just this.

It's bad customer service to provide a product through a varierty of distributors and then cater almost exclusively to the needs of those who bought your product through your prefered distributor, forgetting about the rest.

It doesn't necessarily make them evil, but it doesn't endear you to them either.

And with that I'm done, now to discuss Sang Froid. I'm on the fence with this one. Tower defense against werewolves? Werewolves=awesome, tower defense, not so much in my book.

Indeed, their reputation will be scarred for sure in many GOG gamers eyes, perhaps not irreparably but scarred nonetheless.

Haven't played Sang Froid yet but watched a gameplay video and it did look fun to me. I've never really played tower defense games before so I don't know what they're all about really.

I got a copy for that price, but haven't had time to play it yet. Looks to be one of those hybrid tower defense games, so might still have some appeal for you through the other aspects, I suppose. For $1.50 even if I only play it once I'll be content!

Aw come on! Can't we beat a little more??!! Please! ;-)
It's odd that it isn't mentioned on the news post, but what day does the summer-sale end?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, gotta say, I don't really like this. A three hour window when it's still very, very early in the America's is kind of not "fair". The giveaway ended at 8:59 am here in the Seattle area, so I doubt very few from my region even had a shot at a free game.

Well, the servers are in America, BUT the company is in Poland! So, not sure what I can tell you more than that.

Was Omerta the first flash giveaway?
