The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

undeadcow: They disabled the Omerta game card by search to prevent freebie exploitation, you can find it on the main gog.com page under the flash sales.

tammerwhisk: Went to view the game page out of boredom, and was shocked when it automatically went to add it (already owned it free from one of the insomnia events). God I hope it doesn't end up in my library twice lol...
Nope, you get a gift copy. Give it to a friend, but be sure to emphasize that most GOG games are better than Omerta. :P

You may get a gift key.
If you can't see Omerta on the main page here's what looks like a URL for the freebie from the main page source, unsure if directly clicking it will work or not.

Edit: Doesn't seem to work, nevermind.

j0ekerr: In that case, can you shed some light on the 1.06 controversy? Can that bug be circumvented at all?
avatar
Griz800: Put simply, there is a bug in one of the campaign missions which prevents the game triggering part of a quest. This renders that quest impossible to complete, and thus that mission and thus the campaign. As far as I can tell it was broken in the 1.06 patch released late last year and is baked into the GoG version. There isn't a workaround for players who have the game via GoG because, while Kalypos did solve it, they only applied the 1.07 patch to Steam customers. GoG just get "we're going to do a 1.08 for all retailers", which has been the message for the last 6 months.

The actual mission is Georgia Ave, about 7 missions in, though there are also issues with Garden Pier relating to casinos just before that but they can be mostly worked around by constructing your own rather than taking over existing ones.

People haven't been too impressed with the Kalypso guys...and it should be stressed that GoG are basically stuck waiting for Kalypso to sort it out. Nobody seems to know why they couldn't just throw them 1.07 in the meantime...But anyway. It was a fun game up until it broke, so it's a nice freebie offer. If and when the issue is resolved then I think people will get entertainment value out of it.
Thanks for the info. I assume that there is no way to circumvent that particular bug by either doing, or not doing something during your playthrough?

It is more aggravating knowing that the problem has been solved in the steam version and yet, Kalypso is holding out on gog. It shows blatant favoritism on their part. It becomes downright infuriating however when you read that earlier versions were NOT broken in this way and could be completed, yet these versions are, for some reason that escapes me, not available for download.

animalmother2105: I do not see Omerta on the main page...

Heimklonhm: You sir, are blind. O_O
Be nice he's probably just sleep deprived from all that flash sale hunting.

Or maybe not :-P

That's why I'll always be more of a Gog than a Steam player.
Long live Gog!
Delicious, delicious freebie. Pity that Kalypso still hasn't gotten their stuff sorted out, but I suppose I can just backlog it until 1.08 is eventually released (*insert heat-death of the universe joke here.*)

IronArcturus: In the GOG forums, I've read that Omerta really needs that v1.07 patch to get the game to run properly. Will GOG get that patch soon?
avatar
TNGpt: We have been waiting since late last year for the patch. I doubt they will be releasing 1.07 now for GOG after all this time; according to GOG, Kalypso will be releasing 1.08 for all the versions. No E.T.A. for that though...
That's too bad. So the game is pretty much broken until it gets fixed with v1.08?
So I just got Omerta (thanks, GOG, thanks, Kalypso) and am looking at the Japanese Incentive DLC, which has a two-star rating and no reviews explaining why. Is this just the GOG community pouting about DLC, or is it really that bad?
thank you gog for omerta ^^
If steam was giving a game for free now
It would be a free-to-play game, 100% strictly online, that
once you got it.... you would have to pay $$$ to get upgrades
in order to compete with others online,
otherwise game would be unplayable for you....

GOG instead provides the full game for free, as is, without a "catch"....
Thank you GOG team for free games and for nice summer sale without rigged "competitions" ;) !!!!!!! You are generous & awesome . Cheers & $$$$$$ .

I had my eye on Omertà for a while now and happily picked it up, but does anybody around these parts know why the Japanese Incentive DLC is not available for Mac OS/X? An answer would be greatly appreciated. Apart from that keep on doing what you do best GOG! Putting smiles on peoples faces!
Thank you so much! You are awesome! :D
I just noticed on the OP.
There's going to be more free games today? Well, my backlog is gonna be huge by the end of the sale and that's why I love GOG.

I'm sure it has to deal more with the fact that there is a game breaking bug in Omerta that has been fixed on Steam for 6+ months but no patch has been released here and hate towards Kalypso because of it.
