The biggest celebration of DRM-Free gaming this season is right now, right here on GOG.com! It's warm and nice outside, the summer draws ever closer, so let's make sure it's full of fantastic games. There's no one good way to spend your summer, but we know well that gaming can make every single one of them better. So, whether you plan to stay inside, hike into the wilderness, or take a boat into the calm sea, we'll make sure your laptop is filled with great DRM-Free games you can enjoy anytime, anywhere. To that end, we're holding our [url=http://www.gog.com]2014 DRM-Free Summer Sale!

Each day we'll present you with at least two special Bundle Deals with a selection of of great classics and indies available up to 90% off! As usual, you'll be able to buy just selected titles out of the bundle with a slightly lower discount, or complete your collection with just the ones you're missing, retaining the higher discount rate. Let's take a look at our offers for today, shall we?

Today, we seriously mix things up to bring you both lighthearted comedy as well as dark and morbid horror. The Legacy of Kain Saga is the Full House of gaming with its family themes and colorful presentation. Across four episodes ironically titled Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Defiance the series explores the relation between Kain, a authoritative father with obvious god complex, and Raziel, his rebellious son with questionable fashion sense. The story also includes many of their relatives from extended family, that cannot help but to make a mess in their imaginary homeland called Nosgoth. Hilarity ensues! All this cheerful moments for only $5.96 (that's 75% off!). The other of our offers today, is bound to chill the blood in your veins with its terrifying setting alone. The Deponia Complete Trilogy takes place on a distant planet. A planet, that long ago must have been not so different from our own Earth. Yet now, it is a grim and dark place that suffered a tragic environmental disaster. The surface of the planet is now completely covered with waste. Toxic rain flushes the pollution deep into the ground, poisoning it and making the land barren. Way above, there's the remaining enclave of civilization, housing the remnant of the human race. Now imagine one of them, a defenseless girl, falls down to the toxic junkyard below. Even though she doesn't die instantly poisoned with every imaginable toxin, her future looks grim. The wasteland is filled with danger, and soon she'll find out that she is not alone among the towering piles of garbage. What strange mutated monsters could have survived in such conditions? And what do they eat? The horror! All the thrills for just $11.97 (that's 80% off!). There you have it, a mix of laughter and cries of despair to fill your weekend with gripping gaming. Or did we overdo the mixing?

On top of that, almost all of our catalog has been discounted by up to 50%. On top of that, our front page is overflowing with excellent Flash Sales on single games. You can grab them up to 90% as well, but don't take to long, as they come and go pretty fast! Why don't you head out to GOG.com front page, and see what's happening right NOW!

Getcomposted: The first bundle, I take it will be the Runaway series, but the next title seems a little ... open-ended.
It looks like the banner image is from Commandos 2+3, but who knows what else is in store for us. :)

Edit: Although it appears that Commandos is actually tagged with the 'tactical' genre tag, so I guess there are a few ideas there.

Was Deadly Premonition or Cronicles of Riddick in the flash sale the last hours? PLEASE say no. I hope I didn't miss it a third time :(

I stand corrected - at least 227/228 have been displayed.

skeletonbow: We don't mess around hehehe. :) For the next sale the plan is to be able to figure out what each of GOG's web developers ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day simply by studying the HTML, Javascript and CSS. :oP
I did catch that drift when reading the walls and walls of text... that will teach me about the perils of not counting before posting. >,<

Deadly Premonition literally just rolled off the flash sale 10 minutes ago or so. :( Riddick has only been on once, apparently, so that might show up again any time.

Well, if you didn't know they've been rotating the flash sales in and out, so it'll probably show up again in the next day or two. Most of the games have been on flash sale two or three times already, so you'll probably have many more opportunities before the sale ends on the 30th. :)

Hopefully not just Commandos, Desperadoes and Robin Hood... I already have all of those. =P Very excited to see exactly what it is.
Is there anyway to know if Total Annihilation Commander Pack will come up again? I keep missing it!

Minkee23: Sounds like the game for you! :)

I'm tempted to get the ps3 version. Another 30 mins or so to decide, thanks.

FlamingFirewire: After having played the 360 version to completion, the opening scenes of the PS3 version, and maybe the first couple hours of the PC version before I gave up on it since my computer is too underpowered to really play the game, I'd easily recommend the game to anyone interested in playing a different kind of game with great characters, story, and fantastic voice over that really brings everything to life in the game's weird (but very charming) horror atmosphere.
I'm totally sold. Ps3 it is.

Small calculation:

Number of Days the sale lasts: 17 (or was it 18?)
Number of games on Sale: 217

17 d * 24 h = 408 h
408 h * 2 = 816
816 / 217 g = 3,7...

Note:
Assuming that every half an hour a sale runs out and every game pops up equally

That means every game comes up about 3-4 times.

Not with absolute certainty, but if the flash sales continue every day to the end of the sale as we suspect they will, with games all maintaining a similar periodicity then it's high probability potentially. One of today's new bundles predicted to happen is the "Tactical bundle", however there's no way to know what games it will include for sure. That game sounds like it might fit within that category though so it's possible it might show up in the bundle although to get more than 50% discount you'd have to buy more than one game in the bundle as is the nature of bundles. :) There have been some thoughts expressed that games included in flash sales are unlikely to appear in bundles at deeper discounts, but there are many predicted bundles coming up which definitely have games in the flash sales so I wouldn't rule it out for showing up in the Tactical bundle. Only need to wait 2:55 to find out for sure though. :)

If not, I'm sure it is likely to pop up in the flash sales again eventually for ya. Good luck! ;)

Well, two games rotate in every hour-half, not one. So about 400 hours * 4 games/hour = 1600 total flash sales or about 7 to 8 rotations per game, assuming each is equally likely to show up. Although the first day had more games rotating in every half-an-hour, so that pushes the calculation slightly more to the upper end.

There have already been a few games that have rotated in four times already. :)

Edit: Whoops. Checked the spreadsheet, and by a few have rotated in four times I mean one has: Anomaly Warzone Earth. :P

The_Blog: Playing Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance at the moment (thx again for finding the name!) and it is acutally quite nice :) Sure a bit button smashing heavy. And maybe a bit repetetive but for a game from 2003 not that bad to be honest. I expected it to be way worse than I had remembered it. But no it is definitly playable.

This game should be on GOG!
Someone asked about that game in the last Insomnia Sale and when I linked a Youtube video from it he/she said that was the game. And I remember the mythical part being in the description.

Maybe you´ll also like Die by the Sword, graphically a very dated game. I tried a demo many years ago and I remember it being a very fun and quite brutal game where you could sever limbs (in fact I think it was one of the first game that used an engine that could do this).

Glad you find the game you where looking for=).
