Niggles: Probably good idea its not a Insomnia sale if Stacking is up... everyone has this.. along with Torchlight ;)

CarrionCrow: Seriously wishing this had some of the speed and energy of Insomnia. This thread is about 99 percent comatose and I'm not planning on staying up all night watching crappy movies about giant turtles that breathe fire to type out what shows up.
Thats why i prefer Insomnia.. yeah u stay up late scared to miss a deal but there was a certain urgency adrenalin rush which is missing from this type of sale... its sleepy sloooooooow

Right. I can get the idea of wanting maximum accessibility for the sale, but 40 minute spans between each new item is too long. Once boredom sets in, you lose the audience you want to keep interested. And believe me, watching this shit trickle by is BORING.

CarrionCrow: BORING.
You said it bro!!!! -_-

If we're lucky, maybe GOG will pick up the pace a bit, switch the time down to 30 or 20 minutes an item, if not less. Otherwise this is going to be one glacially paced marathon from now to the 25th.

That's pretty sound logic -- the shorter time span would more likely keep people on the site and/or keep checking regularly. There is just little excitement atm....

If you want a break I can take over the 'and now we have...., with .... to follow' thingy.

That's one of the main reasons why Insomnia works. You take chunks of attention-drawing content, then keep them up rapid-fire. People bounce from one moment to the next, point to point, stimulation to stimulation.
It's also why Keane is now connected to it. You get people who are mentally amped up, then pull the stimulation away, and you definitely get a response. Keane ended up being infamous because it was like mentally hitting a brick wall after going 120 miles an hour.
Otherwise, it'd just be yet another overpriced adventure game that no one really gives a crap about.

I'll repaste the list once the next one's up. Save you the nuisance of switching pages.

The Journeyman Project seems interesting. What's your opinion about it?
Is the game enjoyable on its own, or does it need to be completed by the sequels? What about the actual gameplay? The video on the game page seemed impressive, yet I couldn't exactly understand how much happens when playing and how much is just "cinematic".

The every 40 minutes would be fine for Insomnia suspense if there were only that one game available, 40 minutes and its done. But as it is, you can catch everything by stopping in before 6 hours as gone by, taking away all the suspense. That said, at least there are ways not to miss anything (except where one has a greater than 6 hour block away from the internet)
Considering they ran the summer sale with a very similar format only four months ago, I daresay GOG have found out that this format works. Maybe not with community regulars who already own more than half the catalogue, but the remaining 99% of the customer base.

Edit: Five months, of course.

Good point.
